he also needs to be a guy teammates WANT to play in front of. miller has alienated this team and i dont think anyone wants to go the extra mile for him.

if they screw up he will call them out!!! whens the last time you heard a player from any team say the goalie needed to be better? there are some unwritten rules and miller breaks them regularly...

- battelmt

there are some goalies who will take the blame for a loss even when it wasn't their fault.... Miller is not that guy, but he will gladly dish out blame even when it is his fault

Give me Jeremy or Joe. At least they are funny and amuse me with their opinions. Mike has a better than thou attitude.

the local sports media in Buffalo leaves a lot to be expected. Every now and then they have good guests on the shows, but for the most part they are on the air waves to entertain, not to inform.

Can you blame them for trying to make a change for the better though?

They attract ignorant people because they are ignorant. No one with any knowledge or thoughtful opinion would dare to disagree with Schopp unless they just want to be cut-off and dismissed
- sbroads24

Follow up to that. As bad as Sylvester and Peters are... They talk actual hockey. So real hockey fans (most of them semi intelligent) end up being the callers

COHo reminds me of a young Pat LaFontaine. I grew up a huge Islanders fan and I remember watching Patty La grow into a superstar. I can see Cody's career path having a similar trajectory. They also have a very similar size and skill set.
- JPlatt915

Lets not get carried away.

LaFontaine could flat out fly out there.

Coho in no way could've kept up with Mogilny.

jeremy is an idiot. he always has a "omg my idea is so awesome and obvious, listen to my idea for 10 minutes!" attitude. i think it's kind of funny you don't like schopp but are cool with jeremy.

joe i like a lot. he's hard not to like.

- FIREonICE

Jermey is paired with the other annoying old guy, Howard. I's much rather listen Jeremy be excited than Howard spew doom and gloom and worry.

its not about scouting reports. its about being sharp. scouting reports dont tell you to shoot 5 hole on a short butterfly goalie, but thats where he gets beat. lots of goals hit and go through because he is not sharp. who could be in buffalo???
- battelmt

after watching him play 2 games i knew he had a terrible 5-hole.. i don't think it took the scouting reports to tell anyone that.

all you need to see is a replay looking onto him straight on and youll see he takes up about 10% of the net area

most of the Radio personalities in the Buffalo market have never even played any sport. I like Paul Hamilton the best and then Bulldog, probably because they actually played some sports in there life. They understand competition a little.

honestly, i don't listen to it often, but my favorite local radio station is john murphys new show. if you haven't listened to it yet, i would highly recommend it. i'm not entirely enamored with his play by play but his show is really good. he has such an inciteful and matter of fact way about him on the show, it's a real treat.

that's not true, schopp really likes when people come on with thoughtful responses and will either say "okay, i disagree but i like your argument" or "okay, cool, thanks for bringing that up, i didn't think of that.

he gets pissed when people have really wild or stupid arguments and then gets mad when they think he's being a jerk about it.

every once in a while he goes off the handle on someone that doesn't deserve it, but usually it's deserved because that person is either looking for a fight or is just an idiot.

CoHo is an excellent skater and will only get better. Seeing him in person 5 times so far and he is improving every year, there is no reason why he won't be a top tier NHL center by the time he is 24 or 25.

Sorry but that is false. Any argument that derails his point of view or is argumentative towards it gets dismissed. I agree with some of the things he says don't get me wrong. But his personality combined with the lack of knowledge of the sport he is talking about, makes a horrible radio host

He does have to filter through a ton of people that sound either like they are 1/2 in the bag already or are working through a significant brain injury, to be fair. I'd get testy too.

I don't work for WGR, either.

If WGR was willing to actually pay they would have a much stronger on air staff.

I was so annoyed when he went on that rant about "Who are you going to replace Ruff with." Just a bit of research on the last 3 Stanley Cup Champions:

Los Angeles Kings: GM Dean Lombardi was hired in 2006 after ownership cleared house. Darryl Sutter hired mid-season in 2011.

Boston Bruins: Mike O'Connell was fired in 2006 after a series of trades did not work in their favor (made playoffs 3 times and won the division twice during his tenure). Hired Peter Chiarelli in 2006 and hired Claude Julien in 2007.

Chicago Blackhawks: Dale Tallon was fired in 2009 and replaced by Stan Bowman. Denis Savard was fired in 2008 and replaced by Joel Quenneville.

Bottom line is Sabres brass are just not doing their job. All of these teams identified changes need to be made and made them, yet the Sabres are consistently fine with R&R.

Totally Agree.

The show that i was looking forward to listening to for honest opinions is clearly drinking the water.
Today's show was just angering me and I had to shut it off.

I listen to the post game shows online once in a while, and it seems like Schopp is pissed that he has to work. I think if you are getting paid to talk sports you should be pretty damn happy about, not act like you are doing the world a favor by having to talk to the public.
