Ruff said on WGR, "that his season is in jeopardy"
- jzabawaj

Lindy's season should be in jeopardy.

Mccormick is not a first line center............. ahh im funny today.
Yes Cody will be just fine and that line will be good for a long time pending they keep pommer and vanek which I dont see not happening.

- hubie

They will be Sabres past their current contract. IMHO. Both will take simialr contracts to keep. A pay raise for pommer and a slight decrease for Vanek.

I agree. I think the only real changes will be on defense Leo and Robyn wont be resigned have 2 promotes from Rochester and we will continue to be a mediocre middle of the pack team that is stuck in neutral.

I bet he hope he is. If he gets bought out he'll get 27 million for 1 years worth of hockey. Nice!
- RynoBull

if we could ever get lines 2 figured out (i'm looking at you stafford!) and get a defense worth a darn, i'd be he's a pretty complimentary 3rd liner that shows up in the playoffs. that being said, if he had hip issues in philly and got surgery on one hip, it makes sense to me remembering what he played like last year, that the other side of his hip was giving him a problem and affected his play, linemates probably too. anyways, i'd be shocked if he was bought out and i still believe he can contribute, and not having him is a problem, but not our biggest problem at the moment.

They have tough decisions to make after next year. Foligno, Vanek,Pommer,Ott, Ennis, Miller are all up for deals. If we don't start winning I can't see them keeping the core together. I would like 2 of the big 3 to stay but who knows.

Right but they are #2 in the league in goals per game.
- sbroads24

They are tied for 6th in goals per game. We are tied for 8th. The are tied for 1st in goals against per game and we are tied for 27th.

Hockey Hotline is absolutely nu-listenable. Kevin and Pete have just as many excuses as to why the sabres are losing as the pathetic team themselves. I wish someone would just stand up and speak the truth. Darcy has had 13 years to build a contending team and is no closer than when he signed his first contract. They still don't have center ice position filled, our defense is the softest in the NHL.... WTF
We have BY FAR the quietest arena in the entire league. This is not something that happened overnight.
It's time for changes. Now.

I was so annoyed when he went on that rant about "Who are you going to replace Ruff with." Just a bit of research on the last 3 Stanley Cup Champions:

Los Angeles Kings: GM Dean Lombardi was hired in 2006 after ownership cleared house. Darryl Sutter hired mid-season in 2011.

Boston Bruins: Mike O'Connell was fired in 2006 after a series of trades did not work in their favor (made playoffs 3 times and won the division twice during his tenure). Hired Peter Chiarelli in 2006 and hired Claude Julien in 2007.

Chicago Blackhawks: Dale Tallon was fired in 2009 and replaced by Stan Bowman. Denis Savard was fired in 2008 and replaced by Joel Quenneville.

Bottom line is Sabres brass are just not doing their job. All of these teams identified changes need to be made and made them, yet the Sabres are consistently fine with R&R.

Yea you're right they are 6th. I get you're point and the numbers support that, I just think the chances of this team continuing to let in 4 goals a game are slim, but im less optimistic about Stafford and Ennis becoming the players we need them to be

Great post. Schopp and the Bulldog make the point about "who you gonna replace Ruff with?" Can't stand that.

Similar to a Crosby/Malkin contract deal where they get the same #? I could see it happening.

Either can I. All the guys on WGR are company guys. They wont dog Lindy because he's on their shows and probably is nice to their kids or something.

Like I said, i agree secondary scoring is a problem, but just looking at how our 2nd line finished last season, I am confident they can get it together. I think our D is the problem, and it's mostly because after losing Campbell the Sabres kept getting offensive dmen and no stay at home guys besides Regehr who is past his prime.

And people feed into their BS. The media around here has tried to run everyone out of town besides Ruff. They criticize him on occasion but then make comments like "coaching is not that important" or " they are not firing him so there is no discussion to be had" and then proceed to bash Miller or Myers or Vanek whoever is the scapegoat at that time.

Respectfully disagree with Miller. I think we would be just fine without him. If this league has proven anything you can win a stanely cup with anyone in goal.

Enroth is good. Maybe better than Marty Biron Good. Its the defense I have more worries about than resigning Miller.

Some of the smarter posters on here like them. I think they bring nothing to the table. Example.
Mike Schopp : "I would trade the entire Sabres roster for the Islanders roster"
Then proceeded to barely be able to name players on their team. Did not know who Neiderriter was. Was gloating about Grabner. Grabner? Really, look at his numbers. Identical to Stafford's numbers over the past 2 seasons. They just have absolutely no clue about the sport they are talking about.

Will someone tell him that. He's been awful lately. I think he will be replaced very soon.
