No matter how annoying any of the WGR guys may be, I still listen to them for Buffalo sports. I for one though can't even have that station on when Jim Rome is on. He is just horrible. Even Colin Cowherd was more tolerable than Rome. Only time I can listen is if there is a guest host. |

Sounds about right, I bet doing the post game and being on during prime-time makes a difference |

Howard Simon's article today:
"A number of problems have emerged for the Buffalo Sabres through the first nine games of the season. Chief among them are lack of secondary scoring, loads of defensive breakdowns and inconsistent goaltending.
It has led to what has become a regular discussion the last few years about whether or not Lindy Ruff should be fired.
It was five weeks ago yesterday the Bills decided to end the Chan Gailey era at One Bills Drive. It was a move most people could see coming. Listening to Chan Gailey each Football Monday, you could hear the frustration in his voice and it sounded like he had run out of answers.
I didn’t get that sense listening to Lindy Ruff during his interview with Jeremy and me this morning. Although, there was one time where I envisioned Lindy sitting in his hotel room with his arms stretched out by his sides and shrugging his shoulders as if to say 'Guys, I have no idea what to do.'" - adambuffalo
Howard Simon keeps asking Paul Hamilton what the breaking point is to get Lindy fired, and doesn't seem to grasp the concept that this team is now owned by a guy who has rarely, if ever, fired anybody in his life (if you believe what he says). He's not about to change that philosophy just 2 years into owning his new toy. It's going to take some serious growing pains.

This team is bipolar, streaks of good (Beating bruins, 1st period and a half against Florida), and streaks of bad (Habs game) something has to change cause the team is definitely better then the way they are playing |

i dont mind the WGR guys. even when i disagree with them, they still put together a logical argument. its a hard job to day in and day out think of things to talk about, that are worth talking about. |

Rome's act is getting tired, though. I used to love listening to him, but over the years he's got to the point that he'll never get fired unless he says something overly insensitive. He just signed that massive deal with CBS, which makes him the Rush Limbaugh of Sports Radio (in status only, not personality, obviously). |

Some of the interviews aren't bad, but it's when he doesn't have any one on he is just bad. Make's fun of other radio hosts for having phone callers to just fill time and he doesn't need that, but will just listen to voicemails and read texts and e-mails. Then read the same text over and over again throughout the show. |

Make no mistake. He's not going to tell Darcy who to sign, and who to trade or not to trade, but I seriously doubt Regier has any authority to fire the coach...not that he even wants to. |

I wonder if Lindy wants out? Often overlooked fact is Lindy told Tom Golisano that he planned to leave the team at the end of the 11' season when his contract was up. It was clear Lindy felt he had run his course in Buffalo and didn't beleive they were commited to fielding a championship team. In steps Terry and Lindy "ain't goin nowhere". Now here we are 2 years later and I wonder if this isn't much harder than Lindy thought it would be. In fact I wonder if it isn't harder on him with the new expectations set that it was under Golisano? |

I don't get Rome at all. He talks in code 1/2 of the time, spends another 1/3 promoting himself, and the final pieces talking about how he loves this, loves that. He also weaves endorsements right into his, ill call it commentary.
Different strokes, but I just think I'm missing something with him. He's really popular. |

Yea. I dont think he makes that dollar amount. Not even close. For the hours he works he is lucky to make 30k if that, I think. It really doesnt matter anyway. - TerryPegs
