Next to you and JJ, the Boomer is a favourite of mine. He's an Islander fan deep down. And he just loves slagging the Maple Loafs.
- RickJ

Lol... Big time with Leafs which causes some friction I am sure....Also he is a big Isles guy and has srong opinions.

Hawk talk on SiriusXM radio with Nick Alberga and Mike Lippa: http://bit.ly/11i64r2

"the road-weary Hawks coming off an amazing goalie performance by Ray Emery "

A decent performance from him.. If Calgary could hit an empty net or 3 if I recall Emery would have had 4-5 goals against. Calgary more than Emery won that game for the Hawks.

Bad matchup for hawks..LOL..San Jose never matches well with the Hawks. They are a slower plodding team, the Hawks speed makes the game a lot faster than San Jose wants to play. A solid start is key along with staying out of the box.
- TrueGrit

I agree. And long-term, Couture, Pavelski, Thornton, and Marleau will not likely keep up their torrid scoring pace.

you mean we aren't going with your boy Ray Emery between the pipes tonight?
- RickJ

Razor and I hail from the same town Hammertown, Ontario. That performance the other night was inspirational. I said here i was bracing for a loss that night...but Ray said NO WAY. If he plays like that most nights for us...he'll go a long way to muting my worries about him.

I should've clarified my sarcasm.

Philberto, I was born and raised and was inhaling the flu dust belching out those Stelco smokestacks long before you came to town as the new sheriff.

Maybe we should have a plate of fries one day down at Hutch's on the Beach Strip and look at all those old Tiger Cat and Hamilton Red Wings photos they have on the walls there.

Seriously? None of those goals would have been his fault, just like the two Calgary had

Hawks can definitely win tonight if:
>They play a fast-paced North-South game
>Don't allow SJ to counter because of bad turnovers
>Shoot from everywhere and crash the net -- Niemi gives up his share of weird goals and bad rebounds
>Keep the pace of the game faster than SJ wants to play

hitting isn't so much about intimidation as it is wearing down the defense and forcing guys to give the puck up early and creating turnovers and winning the 3rd periods

All this talk about getting back at Jumbo Hoe I mean Joe. Guess what will stop him, if Captain Serious would decide to pop him in the mouth a few times. Toews is a big boy he should be able to largely take care of him self.

How can you figure that, he was giving up rebounds, which allowed them the open shots.. If Crawford does it, the board is jumping all of CC throat... Which I am not a CC fan by any means. Who's fault is it Emery was giving up rebounds?

There 87 shot attempts...14 misses and 26 blocks....47 shots on goal.

Calgary was inept but Emery won the game....Not one score was on Emery and he made many many key saves.

Tonight is gonna be good. You pay back No-Show-Joe by pounding his team
7-1. If the Hawks get pulled into a who can hit the most game, we will lose. Play our game and use our speed. Be physical when the chance is there, but dont be stupid. I know Bollig wants some payback, but be smart about it. Dont want Bolland out there unless he is really ready. Sharks hate him prolly more so then the Nuckers. A cheap shot will no doubt find #36 tonight. I see Kane having a huge game tonight. He is on a mission!! Playing a smart game is the key, but if Joe and his clown posse start taking runs at Tazer, Hoss and others.. may have to give them back a little medicine.

How could he not give up rebounds? More than half of the saves he made were quick reaction, stick the leg out and toe saves? That was about as athletic of a goaltending performance you will see.

Flat out, Emery stole that game for us, including 3 saves in the SO.

(frank)IN FDING DING DING DING WHich is why I want to chuck my Sam Adams at the TV every single time a Hawks forward has a chance to put the body on an opponents D man but instead does a fly by. Shaw has done this like 20 times this season , With Stalbergs speed he should play the body more , Bickell should have a5 hits a period.

Playing the body against the oppositions D also causes turn overs... Any player any size is capable of forechecking

Sorry, I don't see it that way AL, I see Emery had a decent game, but overall Calgary won the game for the Hawks.

We have to agree to disagree.

This is an act, right? No one can actually think that Emery only played a "decent" game. The Hawks had more give-aways in their own zone than a Carribean Cruise Line during the recession. Emery bailed them out many many times. Sure, the Flames missed open sides as well but Emery had more key saves, more game saving saves than the Flames had missed open sides.
