Don't think it should have been a match - but the league has to stop players coming up with their shoulders when making a hit - that's when the heads get hit.

It was borderline for sure, but the fact is, with all the hullabaloo being made about head shots lately, the refs are afraid to not make that call.

I used to love fights and hard hits but its all about hurting someone now...The players are bigger faster and carry light weight equipment and damage is way easier to inflict. You can still play a physical game without the obvious intentional head/blind hits.

I'd outlaw the full body armor that makes so many of these guys feel invincible. Get rid if the hard plastic shoulder pads etc...I think it would make a big difference if the guy delivering the hit felt it as much as the guy getting hit.

Fights like Max Talbot and Vinny Lecavalier tonight wasn't staged, those are part of the game as tempers get short. Even the Rinaldo v Crombeen tilt was a result of a hit on B.Schenn tonight and one on Giroux last game.

But I'm with you 100% on the pre-arranged bouts between players who belong in an Industrial League.
