I don't think it was actually similar. Crombeen was in the process of going down. Talbot was actually lying on the ice. But I have no doubt that your point is correct in how Lecavalier and the Lightning saw it. But Rinaldo even asked the ref if what he did was okay, and the ref said it was.

Continuing to punch a guy who is down on one knee after a knockout blow is not the exact same thing, but still viewed as against the "code".

I lost a lot of respect for Lecavalier last night. He used to always be one of my more favorite players outside of Philly. But after throwing two shots to Talbot after he was on the ice, that's changed.

Paybacks for what Rinaldo did. Anyone who didn't see that coming doesn't know hockey.

On an unrelated note, it seems Bill's black jersey magic has some potency to it.

I give Rinaldo the benefit of the doubt on the first punch after he knocked Crombeen's helmet off because things happen so fast. The punch after that was where I think TB took exception. Not sure I disagree with them. He was on his knees and clearly out of the fight at that point.

Just saw the clips of Rinaldo's post game interview on CSN. Still don't know if it was hilarious or terrifying. Or both. It's definitely a must see.

I'd have to watch it again, but it looked to me like Crombeen was falling. I have no doubt that the reason why Lecavalier did what he did, was in retaliation.
