TSN`s stupid queston of the Day is wondering who will end up with more points: Galchenyuk or Doug Hamilton

Seems like you plan to spend more time here. Can I ask why?

no. the salt itself is not kosher rather the large grain makes it more efficient for draining the blood out of cuts of meat thus playing its role in the process of making meat kosher.

I agree that is what they are doing, but come on, Hamliton will be a good defenceman, but Gally will be a franchise player with more points, and soon.

'Kosher Salt' should really be referred to as 'Koshering Salt'. Kosher salt is the same sodium chloride compound that you find in other types of salt such as sea salt and table salt. What makes it different is that kosher salt has a larger grain size compared to, say, table salt. Also, it contains no additives such as iodine or anti-clumping agents.

According to Jewish dietary laws, meat that has just been butchered must be sprinkled with salt to draw out the blood. A finer grained or flakier salt would dissolve and run off of the meat. Kosher salt stays in place.

So kosher salt is regular, unadulterated salt that is made so that it is suitable to use for koshering.

Salt is a mineral, and as such, pure salt is always kosher. Some brands of salt have a kosher symbol on the package, and that way you know that a reliable kosher certification agency is checking to make sure that nothing else gets mixed in to the salt and that it's 100% kosher.

So what exactly is "kosher salt"?

In truth, the name "kosher salt" is misleading. A better term would be "koshering salt."
