SAYING THAT THEY ARE STACKED WOULD REFER TO THEM BEING INSANELY GOOD.

EXAMPLE THAT TEAM IS STACKED THIS YEAR!!

DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY MEET THE GENERAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE TEAMS ROSTER.

EVERY TEAM HAS ROUGHLY THE SAME NUMBER OF PROSPECTS.

- Oilhab

no actually stacked can mean that we have alot of them (especially since i included picks in that statement) oh boy....and Caps dont make you any less wrong ...yikes

if i wanted to say we are stacked with great prospects i would have said we are stacked with great prospects, for example

The Oilers are stacked with great prospects.

further example,

The Montreal Canadiens are stacked with 2nd round picks.

but since you probably wont believe me

considering what we already have on the team tho and that line up of up and comers i'd say we're in a better position than most teams (unless they sucked forever like the oil)

- Habitants98

We don't have a d-man that's ready to come up. We don't have any forwards that are ready to effectively contribute at the NHL level and we have absolutely no goaltending depth. The way to be a good team for a long time is to get lucky and get a couple of superstar players and build depth through the draft by having players that are ready to step in all the time. We are not close to that yet.

If we stay healthy and make some noise in the playoffs, that's great. But I for one would like to see them build a prospect pool that can keep us doing that for years.

This really is a thrilling argument, please continue debating the meaning of stacked.

right and i agree but all i was saying is that losing one of the 3 of our 2nd round picks really wouldnt kill us if it turned out to be worth it in the playoffs.....

We are a rebuilding team. We won't go far in the playoffs. At the trade deadline we need to be trading some old players for good draft picks.

It's so ridiculous to listen to any of the Toronto media talk about the Habs. Today I watched Hockeycentral at Noon. The only thing they could say about the Habs was how awful it was that Price and Subban couldn't do the triple low five any more. They bascically said MT was taking all the fun from the team.

The team is 6-2. 4th in goals against, 6th in goals for but in the Toronto media's eyes all that matters is Subban is somehow being disrespected by being held to the same standard that all the other players must adhere to. It makes me sick.

in sports stacked refers to having a great team or a great line, etc.

pretty simple, if you don't get it maybe you should join a team
