I don't see Kesler being traded for Ovi. I'd rather have Kesler at 5 mil over Ovi at 8 mil.

Rupp makes more than Powe, he's overpaid at 1.5 mil IMO. Apparently Palmeri wanted out since he didn't make the team and I guess Minny wants a tough guy which is why they made the move. I like it from the Rangers perspective.

All minor stuff though, Rupp isn't exactly going to propell the Wild into the conference lead.

No, he's not, but it looks like GM's are at the point where they are looking to make roster changes. I just want the goaltending situation sorted out sooner then later. It would be nice to see Gillis upgrade the line up and put the whole goalie converstion to rest.

Kesler is too busy flirting with old women at local stores...Dont think he will start playing again
Ovi is a good replacement and will help with the powerplay

I would be, too. Too much over-analyzing, and too many knee-jerk reactions by fans to AV running with the hot hand for a few games.

It would have to be a complete overpayment for MG to consider dealing Schneider. It's not impossible, but highly unlikely.

Did Gillis give any expaination as to why he and Gilman were taking in a game in Washington? It sounds like it threw Mcfee off gaurd but there has to be a good reason why those two were at the game. Something is going on. It might not even be related to Schneider/Luongo.

What a great blog and if I have said you're biased in the past, I need to eat my words. I think you are bang on with the young Oilers needing to grow (literally, physically grow) a bit before they can win the board battles. Hall-Nuge-Eberle have been watching videos of the Sedins to try to be at least half as good at cycling the puck down low, but yeah, boys vs. men along the boards just doesn't add up.

I was surprised that you think the Oil can pull this one off, it's going to be a tough one. I think it will come down to goaltending and I don't have as much confidence in Dubnyk as Luongo. Sedin line gets two goals, one more from secondary scoring and Luongo shuts the door for the rest. Oil #1 line gets one, #2 line gets the other, and maaaaaybe one more. The difference, sadly, might be the 'sh1tter that Dubnyk lets in.

I also have figured out why I like the Canucks more this season....it's a bit of Kassian, a bit of Luongo handing of a tense situation like a pro...but it is A LOT of "no Kessler". He has to be one of the least likeable guys in the league. I saw an interview with him recently and I remembered where my distaste for the Canucks came from. lol

Anyway, good luck tonight guys. It should be a good one. If you can believe it, I'd like to see young Kassian smack old cocky Hordichuk around tonight. lol
