I know John Garrett is usually derided for being a major homer, but I'm watching the Oilers feed and it's like listening to a couple of Peewee coaches talk up their kids in the C division. In fact, I'm pretty sure one of them just said "The Oilers, with a 2 to 1 victory here in the third period."

Don't underestimate the effect that playing musical chairs with D partners can have on crisp play... Having to think twice about a normally instinctive reaction turns into give-aways, fanned passes, fanned shots, passes to nowhere, bad coverage... and there's another example of it (Hamhuis/Edler).
