Danny Markov.

I'll see your Markov and raise you a Konstantinov. Such ashame with the limo accident. He was such a wrecking ball.

i'll take the 19-20 yrs, whatever it was, though. that's a huge freaking vacuum.

just watching EDM...a damn shame we couldn't get schultz

Yeah, that kid's got a bright future. Edmonton, assuming they keep everyone long term, is going to be a dangerous team again.

I dont really believe they are building it the right way.

To me its a bunch of fancy dancy forwards, that eventually will cost them money. Who will fill the need for grit? Hall playing with a guy like Rinaldo?

when you have that many young assets, you can get to a point where cash them in to fill needs...esp if expectations are tempered for as long as they've been in EDM.

Thats definately true.

I find it interesting they are rolling the dice on Dubnyk.

There was an interesting quote I heard somewhere. The edmonton coach was asked how his team would adjust to the trap that some teams would probably be bound to employ against them.

He basically said they have the skill to beat any trap.

If they have a healthy Pronger and Timonen, I'd take Carle. With the current group, I think that a Yandle-Coburn pair gives you a legit, solid top pair, which allows Timonen-Schenn to settle in as a very soldi 2nd pair, and then Grossmann & Meszaros(if healthy) is a great third pair.
- Jsaquella

For me, my top pair is going to be used against top lines and in key defensive situations. I can't put out a paring with Yandle on it in that situation.

Chicago, Phoenix, St Louis. Carolina has a couple of good young ones. Washington is in the mix, too with Carlson and Green

Some interesting options there if things go south for a few of those teams. Homer needs patience.

they have a lot of skill, but they are not trap-ready or plyoff ready just yet. i'd love to get paajarvi if they'd be willing to part. Bill suggested this the other day and i agree.

His matchups do usually avoid the heavy defensive lifting, however, in the playoffs, his Relative QOC rating was the highest among the Coyotes defensemen. Not saying he's a great defensemen, but with the right partner, I wouldn't mind using him at times against opposing teams' top lines, especially if it's against a weak defensive first line.

I figure if they can get to .500 or slightly above by the time Hartnell & Meszaros return, they could be in good shape and not dealing from despreation

I don't disagree with you but isn't Yandle under contract at $5M for awhile? I don't think thats very expensive for a young defenseman with his skills set.

I would love to get Letang but I dont think he makes it to free agency.

- stveshdy

letang is going to be very, very hard to resign. going to command pushing 7, and needs to be resigned at the same time as malkin.

They cant afford to lose him. Even if it means spending around 25 mil on 4 players.

I hear you, I think that's another mischaracterization, that those who aren't 'realistic' don't feel upset about miscues by the franchise, or that we aren't critical of moves. I, for one, am not looking back on this past off-season with fond memories.

I never thought Twitter could be dumber than this place. I unfollowed a few dopes there that have been continuing the Bryz hate.

Facebook is the best. When the status by the Flyers is "___Other Team___ scores. Games is now __score of game__" There's 300 comments on how the team needs to be housecleaned and how Bryzgalov is so horrible.

It's lovely.
