snakebitten. his play is great everywhere else. his two-way play this year has been awesome. much better on faceoffs(although still needs to be better). Getting his chances. Just havent dropped yet. In a couple years, he'll be out best player imo.

I think Linus Omark will be. Or maybe Anton Lander.

Christ I was a fan in throughout the 80's nobody wants to win more than me.
I can see what the deranged fans and a media that constantly has it daggers out can do to the perception of this team.
1) Toronto is a top city in the world
2) Can pay or match any salary and spend with any team in the league.
3) Players can earn more money in Toronto in endorsements than any other city.
4) Toronto has one of the most favorable schedules in the league almost never leaving the Eastern Time ZOne.

Big name free agent that has signed or even realistically considered signing in Toronto since social media and has been around.....................None

Time to start looking at the joke of a media in Toronto and wonder why such a great city is a pariah for the best players in the league.

- tmlfan17

You actually believe that a UFA wouldn't sign in Toronto cause of the media??

Agreed ....waste of 10 minutes having a ref review that poop. If he intended to kick it in ...no goal. If he didn't ...goal. Ref's discretion.

So are we ready to call JVR, Gardiner, Rielly, Barkov, Frattin, Kadri the new core to build around?

- The Law

Its a start... Is Reimer to future in net?
I think we need to acquire some other late 1st/2nd round picks to stock some other Goalie talent.

I also think we need to add another high end Center prospect on top of that.

if the leafs moved Kessel, Dion, Komi, Liles ...we may be able to accomplish most of that in 1 go

does scrivens start or does reimer get a shot to bounce back?

scrivens scares me against the caps.. even tho they are struggling they have a ton of offensive skill.. if scrivens gets hung out to dry the way reimer was the caps might just break out of their slump

- Dozzer

i think scrivens gets the nod, but i think reimer should, he was unreal last night and vs boston - leafs killed reimer last night, he deserved a .950 save % and they just left the staal's there to bury on command.

Toronto is a great city in the summer.. I love Canada/Ontario but even i would rather spend my winters in Florida or California. Players shouldn't care about the media.

I'm going to make this very, very simple for MLSEL:

This upcoming draft, take the best available centre who is 6'3" or over.

Then move Kadri into the #1 centre position, which he will keep warm until the new guy is ready to take the role, which will not be less than 2 years.

The Leafs' draft pick (LDP) will be invited to training camp. Any idiot on Hockeybuzz or elsewhere who suggests that the guy should make the team will be immediately punched in the faace. LDP will go to the WJC to gain some training.

Next year, LDP will go to the Marlies for a year. Once again, the face-punching rules will apply to Leafs fans.

The 2013 team is abysmal. How tall is Staal - 6'11"? And you can't see him standing alone in front of the net?

And another thing: get rid of Bozak. That guy is an offence killer. How many games do I have to watch with him making a bungle of every scoring opportunity?

He's the reason Kessel has no goals.

I hate all of you.

Your dog is stupid.

It's defined pretty simple...Forward motion of the skate is a kicking motion...Thats how they(NHL) explained the ruling last night...Bozaks skate was in a forward motion when it deflected the puck in...Was he kicking NO but there was clear forward motion caused by his stopping.....

Not sure what people cant understand..

U can angle the puck in with ya skate but cant guide it in with forward motion/direction..

- Fruitcakenipple

was he moving, or did he just move his skate?
Did he move his skate into a position to deflect the puck, or did he hit the puck with the front of his skate to change direction?

From what I remember, your skate is allowed to be moving, so long as your skate doesn't propel the puck into the net.

leafs are still in an OK spot, im just irritated with the play of our captain. and it really makes me wonder when carlyle constantly puts out the same players on the PP when you have Frattin/kadri with 3/4 of the teams goals playing 10-12 mins a game!! BLOWS MY MIND!!!!!!!!

get dion off the point if he cant hit the net, is it really that hard to fathom!? Id rather Mac on the point...at least he can hit the Fn net!

His skate was moving forward and it propelled/directed the puck into the net...

i have a feeling that if this season truly does go down the poopter that leaving staal all alone in front of the net will be the summary picture of the season

I like your attitude.

To ensure the LDP is a good one - and given that the LDP is 17 while Kessel is 25 and Phaneuf is 27 - should we trade those two to acquire more assets between the age of 17-22.

You do that, no goal.
