meanwhile Luongo wins his third in a row, being out played on the road... while being the third star of the week.... I am sure this has not gone unnoticed.

I know the Leafs problem does not start in the net but Lou is a proven team leader... Man, the he is only modern day goalie team captain and gold metal winner. That stuff is what you can build a team around.

On the other side, I am finished with Phaneuf. I used to crack on him here for being overrated to the point of lunacy but now it's pretty clear that he is a valid top 4 for almost any team, but is not the one to base the D on. His shot is way too inconsistent and wild and he positional play is sometimes laughable.

Take the friggen 'c' away already.

Luongo coming here wont make a difference. We dont have the team in front of him to play. Maybe you have him still in the summer and we upgrade our team with UFA'S, then yes ship him over.

There is practically no one else to give the C to

Three years under an American Ron Wilson that only helped him pad his offensive stats and help him get an even bigger contract as an UFA.
- Two_For_Truth

Not gonna argue that for a second. But I think it's make or break time with him. If the leafs are gonna trade him.. They need him (frank)ing rolling top notch. Cutting his minutes a bit is a good move all around. It lets him know this poop isn't gonna fly, and the kids get their big minutes.

The leafs are still developing, and are in no place for a goalie like luongo. The leafs trading assets for a goaltender who's going to help em squeak into the playoffs is lunacy, as those assets would be youngsters. We have nothing else of value to give. Luongo is a goaltender suited for a fringe team missing its final piece.. Not a leaf team who's been avoiding a rebuild for almost a decade, and is finally starting to embrace it.

Plus.. It's a test drive for Reimer. The te really hasn't seem to much bad from him. His only non rockstar play at the NHL level was concussion ridden, during his sophomore slump.

If anything.. I think the team needs to trade for a similar goaltender who can share duties, and increasing the teams odds of hitting a jackpot. Jonathon bernier stands out. Either way, the team is not positioned for luongo, his level.. Or his contract. It's no in every regard.

Agreed on phaneuf. He needs to lose the C. Worst case scenrio it'll help him focus on his game, and not the team. On a personal level.. I'd rather have no captain.

What a bunch of horse sh!t. I wonder how many concussions Johnny Bower got playing against the likes of JFJ senior and his ilk playing for three grand a year. I play real hockey too so I don't have to worry about watching hockey like the rest of you losers.

A team that has depth has that luxury. The Leafs can't afford to bench the only guy with talent.

After watching the past two games, I've come to the conclusion that the Leafs are doing a subtle tank job this year.

Kotska getting the mins he is getting, and Fraser starting ahead of Komi are reasons enough to believe they are tanking.

Add in the fact, that they keep trotting out Phaneuf and Kotska for the PP and you have the making of a very good subtle tank job.

so when is someone goona go next door to the nhl office that says whether its a goal or not?

that game last night being 2-2 would have changed the entire outcome..

should i bring up the boston game, would have been 1-1, but a horse poop goal called back in that one too.

its like the league wants us to lose.

and carlyle at times too, put me on the point instead of dion and il do more, hes is absolutely (frank)ing brutal this year, no goals, 1 assist, minus whatever, playing 30 mins a game and getting 1 shot and 0 hits, getting burned wide time after time. No fighting, nothing...i saw him chirping Tlusty last night...guess what dion, Tlusty is better than you right now, he is a better (frank)ing hockey player...TLUSTY for (frank) sakes!!!!

someone needs to fight dion in practice and beat the poop out of him and give him a wake up call, this is some captain we got here..wow.

ok done.

morning!
