Do you mean Weber? If you do, well he's turning Tom Gilbert into a 40 point d-men.
- mykokes

He doesn't play with Gilbert. He plays with Brodin

Seriously Kadri played 13 minutes of ice-time. Frattin and Kadri have been our best players. They deserve more ice-time until the others start playing better. How the faq is Kostka still on the PP? Like I get why everyone likes him, and he has a nice story, but he hasn't earned all this ice-time he is getting. Try Liles and Phaneuf on the PP. SHEESH.

Because the young guys matter and should be given more ice time and opportunity when they are earning it. Odds are, over the course of the season, the young guys still lead the team to a great draft pick but the important part is that they get the ice time to improve themselves.
- Two_For_Truth

Not gonna get into the draft pick stuff.. But I agree. The kids playing, and being rewarded for their play, is important for their development.

There's not to many bad things that can come from it.

Disagree....

I think it's been Kostka so far this year that's bailed out Phaneuf's brain farts.

- Pen15

I;ve liked Kostka, but he's playing too many minutes. Phaneuf's playing too many minutes too, don't get me wrong, but Beatle John seems to hate him, which makes me like him.

bozak's was debatable.. the call could of gone either way, in truth, prolly should of been a goal

the canes goal was a goal without question.. crossed the line by 1/4" ... it was obviously in

Oh, you mean the arguments that little Nicky had with him previously on HB, wonder how you remembered only those, oh, yeah, you are him, my bad...
- ShootingSemin

I (Pen15) had those arguments with him...but keep up the good work sherlock.

Also...I find this proof that you're an alter UG given your response...there really is no explanation of backing him that those players have all star potential unless....you are him.

What are you talking about? How is what Phaneuf is doing fine? He's payed over 6 million dollars, is the captain, has 1 assist, and is getting burnt 3+ times a game. But that is fine? And immediately everyone else's fault on the ice?

I have always found that Phaneuf has a great Gomez like calming influence over his teammates, and a similar contract for no good reason at all. I am sure Phaneuf will never be that bad, well maybe, anyways, cheers....

kessel's problem isnt his linemates... its because he is doing his best jason blake impersonation and skating around the outside until he finds a wide open lane.. one in which the goalie sees him coming a mile away
- Dozzer

Let's see how many people insult you for this one.

I'm going to take the bet that's it's fewer than the amount I received when I said the exact same thing.

Agreed.

I'm not much of a Dion fan either...but watching Beatle John and UG get along so nicely over it makes me want to like him...

I (frank)ing wish. That will never happen, and Nonis will get ripped to shreds for picking another defensemen, but holy (frank) could we use him.
- Leafland

Phaneuf has just been terrible so far. And I know we have been picking d-men lately, but Jones has the potential to be GREAT. We need him or Mackinnon because clearly Bozak isn't a number 1 center. We need a BIG center like Getzlaf.

IF he's "brain dead" then better to play him with a smart and responsible guy rather than leaving him and a more attacking guy out to pasture, as is happening now
- lumlums

He's brain dead because he's handling the puck instead of handling his own zone.

Phaneuf needs to stay away from the puck until it's PP time.

This is a far cry from the previous stance on Kostka...
- Two_For_Truth

No, its not. I always said he was getting too many minutes, I disagreed with you saying he was Jeff Finger, err a more offensive Jeff Finger.

well you were right

he isnt driving the net the way he has to... and everytime the defense tightens up on him he passes

he isnt going to score like that with friggin gretzky in his prime as his centre

Maybe if you didn't female dog and moan about poop ALL THE TIME, and had ONE good thing to say about the team you apparently cheer for, people wouldn't be so hard on you.

Dozzer won't get called out for that because:

A) it's true
B) he's not a complete pessimist, and is able to see both sides of a coin.

Any reason why Blacker isn't up over Holzer, Kostka, or Fraser? Is he worse than them, I don't see how he could be...

Kostka needs way fewer minutes but now that Gunnarsson is injured, that's not going to happen for awhile.

He also needs to be taken off the PP. Does not belong there. At all.

I half agree with it.

That's exactly what kessels problem is, but I think playing with someone who can open up more ice for him isn't going to hurt. Kadri's creativity draws defenders. If he were to mesh with kessel and JVR he has the potential to open up ice for both.

Not a fan of taking kadri away from frattin though.
