Phaneuf's doing fine, stick a Ryan Suter beside him he'd be a 50-60 point d-man again. But he's got Kostka. dem be the breaks....ps hows weber doing without suter? - mykokes

As respectfully as possible.. Because I'm not interested in the 30 page battle that follows this..
But since when do you care about the team doing anything that helps them win? Kindve gathered the impression that the team losing games is pretty much gravy for you. - joel878
Because the young guys matter and should be given more ice time and opportunity when they are earning it. Odds are, over the course of the season, the young guys still lead the team to a great draft pick but the important part is that they get the ice time to improve themselves. |

the only thing i disagreed with was breaking up the frattin kadri komarov line
i have zero issue playing them as a whole in a different role - Dozzer
Komarov doesn't do anything special. Replace him with Kessel, make Frattin go to the net while allowing Kadri to set-up the trigger man, Kessel. |

What are you talking about? How is what Phaneuf is doing fine? He's payed over 6 million dollars, is the captain, has 1 assist, and is getting burnt 3+ times a game. But that is fine? And immediately everyone else's fault on the ice? |

Nope, that was NEVER said by anyone.
More sarcasm. - Leafland
Holzer went to the same hockey school as Phaneuf. |

DAMN! I am so happy to hear that! Watching him for years in Calgary, he lost all his positional play way back then. He was far too emotional. Sure he makes good hits... but that is his job... not an extra that he should be more valued for.
I am not saying he is a complete doofus, but Burke sold him waaaaaaaaaay to high to the fans. I would like the 'C' to move on. - Beatle_john
I think you'll find the percentage of phaneuf supporters among Toronto fans is the minority.
Even a good chunk of the ones that do know the 'C' being on him is a farce. |

Disagree....
I think it's been Kostka so far this year that's bailed out Phaneuf's brain farts. |

Well.... put Suter anywhere and suddenly they are all 60 point guys. Phaneuf was supposed to make everyone else better. He was "the Suter". |

Do you mean Weber? If you do, well he's turning Tom Gilbert into a 40 point d-men. |

Actually that's the opposite of what he needs. Phaneuf needs to stop trying to move the puck because he has no idea how to do it. Phaneuf should be the one focusing on defense and leave his offensive game to the PP. But his offensive game is another problem because he's too stupid to know that he should be shooting low and hard instead of trying to pick corners with a shot that has hurt more people than it has scored goals. - Two_For_Truth
IF he's "brain dead" then better to play him with a smart and responsible guy rather than leaving him and a more attacking guy out to pasture, as is happening now |

you wont convince me of this
taking komarov off their line changes frattin's role. and frattin is thriving right now
kessel's problem isnt his linemates... its because he is doing his best jason blake impersonation and skating around the outside until he finds a wide open lane.. one in which the goalie sees him coming a mile away
no linemate is going to fix that for him.. he himself needs to start taking it to the net, not get a linemate to do it for him
he had the same damn problem last season when he struggled. |

I (frank)ing wish. That will never happen, and Nonis will get ripped to shreds for picking another defensemen, but holy (frank) could we use him. |
