And 2007/2008?
Pretty sure from the start of this decade (2010) he ranks in the top 10 in every category.....maybe thats too small of a sample size? Perhaps we should revisit when he's 30 years old, in like 5 more seasons. - mykokes
I highly doubt he ranks in the top 10 in every category from the beginning of this decade. |

If you actually take a look at his numbers, they're not that impressive, he's certainly not a top 10 goaltender. - ThePresident
if you actually take a look at his Conn Smythe trophy, you'll see that he is |

A half season as a rookie. Not unusual. Unless you think Reimer is destined to be an elite NHL goalie too?
And revisiting in 5 years. Habs fans have been saying that for 5 years already. This Vezina winning goalie they keep predicting has never shown his face. - prock
He did, two seasons ago. But you're conveniently ignoring that......or the fact that he's played 278 games and is sporting a .917 career spct. Ironically Hiller in 255 gp has that same save pct.....oh and he's 5 years older than Price. |

They don't tell the whole story, but they certainly play a big part. His numbers are his results, he can have great reflexes, great moves, great positioning etc, but when he's giving up a good amount of goals a game, none of that matters. |

Joseph was a great goalie, but not quite in the class of those guys....as for Lindberg making the list, small sample size sadly, and he probably wouldn't be on the list but the whole What if thing comes into play. I also really liked Mike Richter. |

Which proves you wrong. You said that he has done nothing to prove he can be a top goalie when clearly he did. You just ignore it. |

If you watch him play, you can clearly see that the Habs suck as a team and he is often the reason why they either win or get a point. The stats have also shown he can be a dominant goaltender when he has a half decent team in front of him.
Also, you have to consider his age. For a goalie to have success at an early age is rare and he's shown great abilities at a young age. He's only going to continue to get better from here. |

Gagners 9 points in 8 games look terrible once you take 8 points away. - robin_steele264
Should take away 10 points and give him negative points. |

Once again, you can not base a whole goalies work off of one playoff run. This happens all the time, goalies turn it up in the playoffs sometimes, but it was only that one time. That doesn't prove anything as far as overall talent. By your rationale, I guess JS Giguere is an all time great... Come on man, I guess Leighton's strong run for the flyers a few years ago was the mark of a top 10 goalie. Overall, Ward is mediocre, yes he had a good run in the playoffs that year, just as many other goaltenders, but generally he is not the type of goaltender to carry his team on his back year in and year out. Which is what a top 10 goaltender is capable of doing. |

Either Price or Ward. Ward has never really been given a shot but he's a money goalie. He has ice water in his veins when the game is on the line. |

To me those poop years he had after his rookie season and playing in Montreal, battling with Halak for the #1 job, has made him a better goalie today. I no longer wonder if he's going to wilt under pressure. |
