He's had a rough start. And he won't be around too much longer. But he was unquestionably better last year (as in, not even close), and has been for years, and I'm going to wait a little longer than 8 games before I write him off for good.

Phoenix plays defense first system.. that's no knock on smith hes a very good goalie too. Trust me i wouldn't ever make an excuse for a Hab unless it was for a good reason.

He hasn't proven he's a top goalie in the NHL. At all.

He has one full season with a sv% better than 10th in the league, and that still only ranked 7th. He typically ranks closer to about 20th.

What do you feel he's done to prove himself a top goalie?

Not only does that guarantee they get MacKinnon but it also guarantees they get at least two more 1st round picks and two top prospects plus maybe more.

Calgary can join Columbus and have three 1st round picks.

Fair enough man, I don't really have a horse in this fight, but to me Price is top 10 in the league right now. I also feel Ward is top 10, though lately everyones making an argument that he isn't. I also like Fleury. To each their own I guess.
