i like rocky.. at which point did i delete a rocky reference?

wait let me clarify

i like every rocky cept VI.. i can take a cheesy movie.. but that one was awful

- Dozzer

OK, that's a relief. It's perfectly understandable to not like any movie (cheesy or not) that involves a senior citizen in a boxing ring.

So much Kessel love He's been playing like Jason Blake but getting a free pass, I for one don't get it.
- BestRapperAlive

The Kessel love comes from intelligent posters. The guy has been flat out awesome this year. I read on Pension Plan Puppets an article that did a simulation based on the chances Kessel is creating and found that only 8% of the time would he start the season with no goals and an equal amount of probability for him starting the season with 8 goals. Basically, over 48 games he is going to score roughly 24 goals, and you can book it. The guy is money. He's the best player in Toronto and one of the best in the League.

Yeah, Philly will start winning soon and peoples opinion will change.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Philly winning doesn't change the fact that Brayden Schenn is and was extremely overrated. He was riding more of his brother coattails at the time, when Luke actually looked promising. I kind of see the same story playing out with Malcolm Subban, not that good, just gained the attention from his last name.

I got confused too. The series ended after Ivan Drago was defeated (IV). I don't care what happens after that.

Come on. Braydon Schenn is a great prospect and you can't write a guy off when he's so young.

Is it really that hard to just answer the guy's question without insinuating he's of a lower intelligence? Just try it for once, I guarantee you'll be able to spend more than 10 mns here without getting banned or going for a timeout.

Looking at both players, if you had to grade them prospect wise, I think Kadri has the higher ceiling.
- ThePresident

B schenn has had 6 different coaches in 2 years. He really hadn't had any time in the AHL prior to this year during the lockout, where he went 13G/33pts in 33gms.

12G in 54 games last year with flyers. in his first real time in the NHL. He's still learning.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but just pointing out it's still pretty damn early in both their careers to be labelling anything.

Schenn hasn't had anywhere near the developementally focussed coaching Kadri has had.

And what leads you to believe he won't develop into a rugged, gritty top 6 centre?

He's an average player, not worth a top 5 pick, nor did he deserve to be ranked the best prospect. He's going to be a 3rd liner at best, kind of like a Peca, or Mike Fisher player but not as good.

Because he doesn't have the offensive skillset to play that role, he'll end up being more of a checking line center, shut down role.

Simply pointing out that the guy was overhyped, shouldn't have been a top 5 pick, shouldn't have been ranked the #1 prospect. The Kings knew what they were doing when they traded him away, knew he was overhyped.

k now you've lost me - those are 2 pretty good players with pretty good careers.

Schenn's played 71 games in the NHL over 4 different seasons since being drafted and has 13 goals/24 pts.

Kadri's played 59 games over the same time period and has 11 goals, 26 pts, and Kadri is almost a full year older than Schenn, but they were drafted the same year.

J.Staal?

I'm not saying he isn't a good player, but I've always felt he's been over-hyped. What's odd is that a lot of the hype was based around him being so "underrated" for so long.

We kept hearing, "Jordan Staal is one of the most underrated players in the league," so many times that it turned into actual hype. Then, too much hype.
