If Neil Young really did play in a band with Rick James, I do care! Do tell.... - 1979AD
They were called the Mynah Birds. They don't have any records, I don't think but I think maybe there is some bootlegs. Its like, pre buffalo springfield. |

The league will hire better lawyers then the widow house wife. I think the leagues want their athletes to use PED's... Makes a for a better product. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I would bet they do, and they would, if they could get away with it legally. |

Acting condescending is the first clue you are done. Christ. Have fun in your bubble world buddy. Youre a joke. - Aquaman_2400
First thing we can agree on.
NO man, i'll give you credit, you are doing some critical thinking about observation, i'll give you that. But your idea that only statistics are provable was laughable. Beyond that, just to save yourself embarrassment, you probably should have just stopped talking when I pointed out what step one of the Scientific Method was observation.
You know about the Scientific Method? The thing that every facet of your day to life is predicated on? - Jimmy_tea |

but if you sign the waiver then you arn't being forced. My uncle has a dirt bike track and he makes everyone sign a waiver.. If they don't sign go ride somewhere else. I agree with everything else. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Not true.
To oversimplify, if you sign something that contravenes law, "it isn't worth the paper it is signed on."
If I sign your uncle's waiver saying I won't sue if I get hurt, and then I get hurt because there were unsafe conditions (like your uncle knew there was broken glass all over the place, but never bothered to clean it up) I can still sue.
And win. |

In totally useless news but interesting;
You learn something new everyday about one of my favourite bands, the Beatles, this is interesting, on this day in 1968 while recording the Let it Be album, the band needed female vocals for the harmony - and as none were available in the studio they invited two fans from outside the studio to contribute the line "nothing's gonna change our world" from the Across the Universe song. - LeafMan
hey thats pretty cool, im a HUGE beatles fan.
beatles, doors - love em both.

Wow... it's true. And according to one of the first links Google handed me, it was the failure of this project that led Neil into the folk/acoustic world:
YOUNG: "Yeah, there are tapes of me and The Mynah Birds also. After I arrived in Toronto I tried to keep my band going and then tried to work with several others. But it just never worked out for me there. I could never get anything going in Toronto, never even got one gig with a band. I just couldn't break into that scene. So I moved instead towards acoustic music and immediately became very introspective and musically-inward. That's the beginning of that whole side of my music." |

Im not heartless... We are all faced with decisions in life and there are consequences for those decisions. I don't know whats so hard to understand about this. People don't have a "right" to demand money. We have a right to education though. - Arctic_AARDVARK
true if you are forced to leave school to work on the familly farm that's been in the family for the last 110 years or risk losing it. What are the option?
They can always go back to school later on an get their education.
There will always be consequences for those decisions. Some less painful that others.
Like damm should of worm that damm condom, now I've got an STD ....

And win or lose, the lawyers WILL WIN. Every time. I think that's one of the key points here. The league always pays one way or another.
The pro leagues would pay through their nose just to fight the lawsuits for 30 years, let alone if lawmakers stepped in and saddled them with billion dollar fines for knowingly peddling harmful substances and profiting from it.
Tobacco companies immediately come to mind here. |
