I don't look at plus minus stats, I watch how a player plays, for example, Blacker got a minus because of a bad bounce off the boards, you have to watch and see how a minus is handed out to have it in proper context.
- LeafMan

Yeah but you are smarter than the average bear. I am just pointing out that - and its unfair to blame this blogger, since they all do it - people who are paid to analyze a game should be giving a proper analysis. To me the proplem is two fold : 1. They dumb down the narrative because blogs have stolen the hardcore fans and TSN, The Sun, Star, etc know they are basically broadcasting to a much dumber base then they were ten years ago, hence you get articles like Cox's about Kessel last week which should have been laughed at and nothing more.

2. Too many explayers given jobs they aren't qualifyied for. This just further dumbs down the narrative and makes it insufferable. Some guys, like Al Strachan, Pierre McGuire, Elliot Freedman, they don't need to have been NHL players to be smarter, have good critical thinking skills and strong anaylitical skills. THese things are far more important from a broadcastin/writing standpoint than having played the game.

I think people have a right to whatever opinion they want.. strong weak,or stupid, it is their opinion.
- bixll

And thats the problem. You should be allowed to have an opinion, but only as long as youre willing to change it when confronted by new information, new ideas, better analysis or an expert.

The idea that everyone's opinion is equal is hilarious. If a doctor and a carpenter both have opinions on a medical condition, who's is more valuable?

I agree and I agree with what this post was quoting. Bozak on a third line with Koromov and Kulemin would be great. It isn't going to be long before Kadri finds himself on the first line. He has great chemistry with Frattin so why not put those two with Phil? THen make your second line Graobovski centring JVR and until Lupul comes back, Macarthur? The bottom line is that if Kadri and Fratting are legitamate top six players, if Riemer is in fact as good as he seems and with Gardner and eventually Rielly ready to augment the lineup, this team is going to suprise some people.

I am proud to finally have first hand experiance to be able to point to (instead of just trying to out-argue people who have no right to such a strong opinion) that this team is , in fact, already 2/3 through a rebuild that allows us to watch a young, exciting team with loads of potential.

Like I said before (and was summararilly attacked by fifty posters) this team compares very favorably to the Oilers. While their forwards are obviously superior, Kessel, Kadri, Lupul, JVR, Grabovski, Frattin is not a bad top six going forward. Add in superior goaltending, and bottom six forwards and the Leafs are starting to make it close. Once you factor in the D, Toronto is vastly superior : Phaneuf, Rielly, Gardner could be one of the best 3 D combos in hockey in 2 years and are miles ahead of what Edmonton has.

Once again I will say this: Brian Burke, the most unjustyfied firing in NHL history, and that includes Dale Tallon from Chicago.

- Aquaman_2400

They owed him at least one off-season of work, considering every move he made had this exact situation in mind.

A reduced cap, no roll-backs of player salaries, and several team now looking to slash and burn their budgets. When he was taking heat for not signing Brad Richards or Ilya Kovalchuk to stupid deals, this is what he knew was coming.

In terms of money and cap space, there is no team in the NHL positioned as well as us for the next 2 years.

Which can take an award-winning photo just as well as an SLR. In the end, the camera is just a tool, it's all up to the guy taking the picture to get something good.

I hated the Nikon D-200, it failed me on several occasions. Never felt right either. I sometimes still use my D-50, now that was a camera that gave me more than I had ever expected. Much the same way the D-90 does for me.

The funniest was Healy slobbering all over Plekanek, ripping all over Kessel during a Habs game Sunday, it made me laugh so hard that it prompted me to tweet to HNIC and CBC about this jackass and why he has a job using tax payers money.

It is not the job of the guys doing the game to rip players a new one.. They should stick to the game at hand. Leave the arm chair GMíng to us.. Not on TV.

The CBC is terrible now. The Cons slashed their budget and put guys like Kevin O'leary on tv.. Good ole CBC radio never fails though.

A 1-0 game (that should have been 1-1) and Healy and Simpson are trying to outdo each other for the role of "Most Fawning Boston Sycophant" describing them like they were the bloody 1980's Oilers.

You'd think it was the biggest drubbing in league history.

The budget has nothing to do with HNIC, they get complete say on who they hire. And let me tell you, they didn't hire these morons at a discount.

Unless any of us has a doctorate in hockey, all of our opinions - as fans - are equally valuable when based on fact.
