I didn't read any of that because I knew you didn't have any points in there, just a bunch of crap spewing. Thanks for the "argument". Later. - blahman20
Seriously, Dozzer never even really played the game.
I'd listen the guy if this was BaseballBuzz.
I'll bet his skates are white. |

Lets go after Ryan Clowe, who will be over-paid and be another 2nd/3rd line player for us, YAYYYY. - blahman20
It's more to it than that, he adds size, grit and he can still score goals. |

Ryane Clowe will get a big pay day, for sure.
But he's not a 3rd liner on any team in this league. |

Haven't heard many Philly fans complain about him. Most have been happy. I haven't gotten around to watching them yet(been missing Leafs games, too), but I'm fairly certain Philly fans have been watching. - Feeling Glucky?
Lots have been complaining....from one philly reporter he's almost on pace to have giving up a goal per game so far.
My buddy hated the trade when it occured.....and he hates it even more now...specially with the way JVR has been playing.

Whats that supposed to mean? 2.25 on a 2 year deal is overpaying Kadri?
He could potentially be our leading scorer this season.
Obviously, we'd like to get it down to 1.5 area but all im saying is his play could give Nonis a headache this summer - t_leafs21
Yah, sorry - my bad.
I thought you meant $4.5 - $5 million per year.
Which I thought was about double what he was worth.

From what i've seen from Schenn in Philly he hasn't been great at all, but if Philly fans are happy with him that's cool. I'm still happy with the deal, will take JVR's potential 10/10 over Schenn's safe 2nd/3rd pairing potential. - blahman20
I just don't there was room for JVR in Philly.
Briere, Read, Voracek, Couturier, Giroux, Schenn, Hartnell, Simmonds, I know that's only 8 guys, but JVR was invisible on our third line, I imagine the same could be said of him in Philly.
It was a good trade for both teams, problem in Philly is their d are mostly injured, or reclamation projects like Foster. |

No denying that.
But in prior seasons, when he was skating at a higher level, everything about his game was better.
Funny thing is, last summer, when it was reported that he'd bulked up, I said that if it was all upper-body strength, he'd struggle, because it'd impact his skating, and i had a nice argument with our resident bitter know-it-all about how the laws of physics worked.
This season, from all accounts, he's lost weight and his skating has improved(which some were arguing in the pre-season was an impossible development). - Feeling Glucky?
i dont know man.. i have watched 2 philly games this year and he seems to be just more of the same
i like the kid.. i really do and hope he gets out of his funk but i think his biggest priority should be defining his game and sticking to it
these visions of offense he seems to get just dont suit him |

Lol, I'm not saying to go out and sign all these guys, just one if they can will be good, Clowe or Clarkson on forwards and Murray on defense. |

We are so used to mediocrity in Toronto now it's sad. Clowe will be over-paid and on a decent term, I don't mind the guy as a player, but Toronto doesn't need another 2nd/3rd line player. The whole roster is made up of the same kind of players, with only a few that are truly top line players. I don't want any part of Ryan Clowe, rather save the money and spend it elsewhere. |

why would an inexperienced young, small team need an experienced, tough as nails veteran in their top six.

No offence, but thank God you aren't the Leafs' GM.
Edit: or did you mean total, i.e. $2.25 - $2.50 per year? - Atomic Wedgie
I think he meant 4.5 to 5 total, cap hit just over $2M.
Which is totally reasonable.

Agreed that the deal was done out of need for both teams. Obviously Philly has a plethora of Fowards, and we're short on the back-end with Pronger out. Toronto was just the opposite. |

I think JVR has a lot more potential than Schenn.
Whether he realizes that potential, however....
But I will say this: he has a lot more chance of realizing it with Carlyle. If Wilson was still here, JVR would have been thrown under the bus by now. |

lol yeah another player to play on the 2nd line, awesome. I'd rather just pay less for a guy that can hit and bring grit to the 3rd line. Clowe is going to get a nice payday, and to be he's not worth it...not on this team anyways. Clowe would be must more valuable to a team with actual playoff aspirations. |

50-60 points per year with 100 PIMs?
Yeah, he is. Look up the top 3 scoring wingers on most rosters. Not every top liner scores 30/70 per year. |
