Liles/Gunnar has been the worst pairing all year.
I agree that Liles has been quite good, though. But that pairing needs to stop. - Leeman4Gilmour
Well Gunnar has a bum hip now so you got your wish for now anyway. Liles-Komisarek isn't terrible, they actually compliment each other well |

No agreement or disagreeing with my post, what is wrong with you people,
If no big fish is landed in UFA and if available, I would like to see Clarkson and Douglas Murray signed. - LeafMan
I'm fine with signing Weiss. |

Schenn may be the "safer" option in terms of you know he's probably going to be a 3rd/4th D man and not much else. JVR has way more upside, and even right now I think brings more to games than Schenn did. I always liked Schenn, so the blind hate argument doesn't work with me. I hope Schenn figures it out in Philly, but so far he's struggled just like he did for the Leafs last year. - blahman20
That's not what I've been hearing from Flyer fans. They seem satisfied with him, not so much with his kid brother and Couturier. They're just treading water until Kimmo is back to his old self, and Coburn needs to step up too. |

Don't worry about it, lol. Douglas Murray is exactly the kind of defenseman the Leafs could use. Love the way this guy plays in San Jose. |

Wow four fluke points and all of a sudden he's been playing well. Watch his skating, watch his play at the point on the PP. He hasn't been good. - blahman20
i'm done arguing with you
i have watched. i think your expectations are simply too high
his points are flukey, he is horrible defensively blah blah blah.. try providing an example and you will find your opinion goes further.
also he blocks a ton of shots.. perhaps you arent watching the game when he does that?

I didn't read any of that because I knew you didn't have any points in there, just a bunch of crap spewing. Thanks for the "argument". Later. |

It will be needed for sure. The cap is going back to 64.
We have Phaneuf,Liles,Gardiner on the books (About 11m and change) Gunnarsson,Franson,Fraser and Holzer need to be resigned. I'd like to look out and get a cheaper UFA for the bottom pairing.
Grabo 5.5,Kessel 5.4, Lupul 5.25
We also need to resign Kadri upfront. With the way he's playing he could give Nonis a headache with the negotiations. But I'm thinking a bridge contract. 2 year deal worth 4.5-5
If we want any shot at Getzlaf and Perry we'll need it. They'll most likely be getting 7-7.5 each - t_leafs21
No offence, but thank God you aren't the Leafs' GM.
Edit: or did you mean total, i.e. $2.25 - $2.50 per year? |

From what i've seen from Schenn in Philly he hasn't been great at all, but if Philly fans are happy with him that's cool. I'm still happy with the deal, will take JVR's potential 10/10 over Schenn's safe 2nd/3rd pairing potential. |

Whats that supposed to mean? 2.25 on a 2 year deal is overpaying Kadri?
He could potentially be our leading scorer this season.
Obviously, we'd like to get it down to 1.5 area but all im saying is his play could give Nonis a headache this summer |

schenn was terrible last year
horrible even.
the scouting report is out on him and he's now very easy to beat..
he pinches too high in his own zone.. the forwards come in, chip it along the boards which effectively negate his strength, which is his physical play and simply out skate him to the puck and start their cycle down low.
schenn is basically an open gate for the opposition to gain the offensive zone. watch him play with that in mind, trust me, you will see it - Dozzer
No denying that.
But in prior seasons, when he was skating at a higher level, everything about his game was better.
Funny thing is, last summer, when it was reported that he'd bulked up, I said that if it was all upper-body strength, he'd struggle, because it'd impact his skating, and i had a nice argument with our resident bitter know-it-all about how the laws of physics worked.
This season, from all accounts, he's lost weight and his skating has improved(which some were arguing in the pre-season was an impossible development). |
