He's making the Leafs next year lol Most likely be in our top 4
I'd still send him to the world juniors though! - t_leafs21
no way
they wont risk his development by playing him on the leafs.
remember they have gardiner and liles as PMDs.. franson is considered offensive as well
they dont need to rush the kid.. so they wont.
my guess is he goes back to jr next year, then spends the folliowing year in the AHL to get his feet wet in the pro game. at which point liles will only have a year left on his contract and the transition will begin. this will be when gardiner is ready to assume a bit of a mentor role as well. |

lol wow Nick Kypreos just refuses to give Toronto ANY credit. Saying the Reimer was the only reason the game was 1-0 against Boston, well that may be true (not really, Boston didn't even have that many GOOD chances) but isn't James Reimer on the team? I didn't hear Kypreos going on about how Toronto only loss a game because of BAD goaltending, which happened about 20 times last year. It's funny, Reimer plays good and Toronto keeps it close and it's all on him, but Toronto loses due to 3 bad goals and it's just the Leafs being the Leafs.
(frank) off Kypreos. - blahman20
I'm not sure on this but I saw a tweet that had the Leafs out hitting the Bruins so for some to suggest they got manhandled is completely false, they didn't generate enough offensive zone pressure though. |

There won't be many great options.
Other than Getzlaf and Ribiero, there really isn't anyone great heading towards UFA status. Derek Roy? After than, it's Connolly, Lombardi and Antropov as your best bets.
Yuck. - Atomic Wedgie
Perry, Semin, Iggy, Horton...not that great, but some guys. I'd love Toronto get Nathan Horton personally, even with his concussion issues. |

They had one good scoring chance the entire game, which was of course waved off when Rask went down like an Italian soccer player.
The game was like watching paint dry. |

It is either the Leafs or junior, but when he is legible for the AHL, if he doesn't make the Leafs it won't bother me if he is headed to the Marlies but I think he bypasses the AHL. - LeafMan
Well, count me as one that would prefer he see another year in the WHL then. Captain of Team Canada, quite possibly. Yep, I like that. |

Hopefully this is the course they take with him. By the time he's ready for the Leafs he will be 21/22 with a few more lbs. on his frame. |

We need a #1 centre.
And no to Iggy. I love the man, but he is so done it frightens me.
Seriously - the guy is done. |

Agreed. I didn't see Boston getting many chances at all, I thought Toronto did a pretty good job at keeping Boston to the outside when they were hemmed in their own zone (which they still have issues with clearly). Boston didn't have much net drive, even with their big bodies. I thought Reimer was good, but he wasn't standing on his head or anything. If you listen to Kyper, it sounds like Reimer was doing his best Patrick Roy in the 1993 playoffs out there or something. |

#Centre is probably only coming via the draft or trade, so no reason to look at UFA's anyways. Getz isn't coming. I wouldn't count out Iggy just yet, I still think he has a few good years left in him. |

I still think he needs another year. He'll likely be in that poopty needs AHL time but too good for junior poop that Niederrater and others go through. |

Bring in White, have more options. Having too many options is a better problem than not having enough.
He could very easily replace Franson, IMO. And he brings the attitude you want for the younger guys.
Phaneuf-Gunnarsson(healthy)
Liles-Gardiner(healthy)
White-Komi/Holzer/Rielly
Gives you the option of 3 pretty damn mobile pairings that can play a fairly even amount of time. - Feeling Glucky?
I'd actually rather they sign Paul Ranger for the third pairing. Assuming Paul Ranger wants to sign with the Leafs, instead of staying with the Marlies. |

He'll be 19. It's a tournament for 19 year olds. It's only the spectacular 18/17 year olds that get the look.

We so badly need an upgrade at the 1C. Bozak can't not cut it. He is a 3C at best. With no true 1C and Lupul, Kessel just doesn't have any support. JVR, is going to park himself in front of the net, and thats great, but that still leaves Kessel with too much to do himself. Bozak aside from faceoffs is just not contributing at all. I'd like to try Kadri up there, but his faceoff presence is just horrendous. |

We have to get it out of our heads that Carl Gunnarsson is a top pairing guy. Ron Wilson doesn't coach this team anymore.
Gunnarsson is a 3rd pairing guy that can give you safe minutes at best - t_leafs21
Gunnarsson is a safe defender who can play big minutes and chip in offensively. He's definitely a top-4 dman, he's shown he can cover for any mistakes Phaneuf makes(which is why he'd been his most steady partner)... Until we have a better defense-first option for Phaneuf, he's the guy.
Gardiner is not an option yet, as he's very prone to mistakes, and Rielly's inexperience would probably mean the same thing. It'd be nice to still have one of Aulie or Schenn, but alas, we do not. |
