No one wants our garbage players......plain and simple

It's like buying a bunch of used up saggy loose hookers after Ruff has had his way with them.....who wants that?

Plus from what I can tell there is no trade market out there at the moment anyway

- rustbelt82

I don't think that even if Ruff had his night with some hookers that they would be saggy and loose....

I want Patrick Roy.

I`m sure he wouldn`t mind taking on the duties of a big club and getting to coach Grigorenko again

And the fact that his son is on our AHL team doesn't hurt....

Problem is that he owns the Quebec Ramparts...

Varlamov can't hold Millers jock, Miller isn't the problem he's just part of it. Darcy isn't making any deals so this has to be fixed from within.

And Idea

Put a shock collar on everyone on the bench and out on the ice. (coaching staff too)
Give a control to Vanek , And the guy in the stands that yells "fire Ruff"

Wrong son... he has one son who is a goalie in the ECHL I think.. and another son Frederick who is in our AHL team and is a small winger.. he is about 5'10 and 180 lbs... He came to our camp on a tryout and got signed. He was Grigorenko's linemate with Quebec last year and just killed it.

Darcy is better in my book in the last 2 years with Pegula...

Regehr and Leino sure didn't help his cause but...

Unloading Kassian for Hodgson and Sulzer..

Getting a 1st for Gaustad...

Drafting Grigorenko and Girgensons..

It is a bit nicer...

I like the way Philly handles their roster. I know it hasn’t paid off, but they’re never content with making the playoffs. There not worried about making a bad trade. They target a player they want and then go and get him. Sure it has backfired with Carter & Richards winning the cup last year. Once again not saying this is the right way, just the way I liked to see a team ran. Sick of the way Darcy runs this team, does just enough not to lose his job, ala Gaustad for a 1st. Great trade, but will never help this team win.

Ah so he is more of a minor league player for now and if he makes the NHL it`s just a bonus

And even that trade has backfired in a sense. We can't win a faceoff. Which directly led to a goal yesterday. I would be estatic about the Grigs and Girgensons draft if we had a coach who has a chance of developing them properly.

I honestly don't see him making the Sabres any time soon....

We probably have 3 or 4 guys who would be called up before him and Armia should be in Rochester or Buffalo by the end of this year too..

Yes.. he does have a nice cap hit.. but he is a UFA soon and the Flyers don't have hte money to resign him to another sweet Simmonds or Voracek type deal.. They mind as well get talent to fill other voids.
- JVince11

I have no delusions about what Matt Read is. Right now, he's a 25-year-old 2nd year player who puts up a lot of goals for a small cap hit. That cap hit expires after next season. And that's why I said not this year or offseason. Unless you want to talk about ridding yourselves of that "sack of crap" Tyler Myers. Read+ for him would be more reasonable.

Edit: He's not 26 yet, still 25.

realistic trade ideas:

stafford for a 4th round pick MAYBE a 3rd. after all we did get a 1st for gaustad

thats really it imo. everyone else that had SOME value has lost it all with how awful they have played this season. stafford although hasnt even scored yet hasnt been a defensive tirefire and someone would probably gamble on him finding it again.

sabres are not in a position to want to trade away prospects, really.

on this team i'd keep:

the top line obviously

foligno

ennis (but put him back into a winger when theres a center to replace him)

grigorenko

i'm fine with hecht but hes going to be irrelevant and retired before it matters

scott and kaleta are both fine but easily replaceable by any other goon you choose

myers i'm fine with either way. still a good enough chance he will recover to be worth keeping. but wont cry if hes traded

ehrhoff obviously, hes been our best dman since hes been here i think

sekera

weber/sulzer both fine for 6/7

in conclusion: it seems we have our top line set for the for forseeable future. ennis i think is a fine 2nd line player, i would keep foligno on the 3rd line. so you need a 2nd line right winger, 3rd line center/winger, then who cares about the 4th line. then you need 2 more solid defenseman and i would call it a complete team.

this of course assuming grigorenko isnt a giant bust and can be #2 center

No one is forcing me to be a fan. Thats true, But since I have been a fan since i was very little its hard for me to jump ships.

If rooting for them to lose every game this year means changes will happen then at least i can look forward to that. I think pegula will get the message "Fire Ruff"when he can here it clear as day during the home games.

Not sure if maybe Minny kicks the tires on Stafford for a play off run depending on where they are farther down the road in this season in hopes playing with Parise lights a fire under his butt

Lindy will still be on the bench with a walker, cane and a colostomy bag, as will Darcy.

We all know the likelihood of Ruff getting fired (ESP in season) are pretty slim...
What I could reasonably see happening though,
Is Ruff being moved into the front office after the season...
Asst GM? Another position?
Ruff definitely has a spot somewhere in the organization

As far as Regier goes...
He has been absolutely killing it at the draft
And even moves like Regehr that haven't worked out...
It's not like we gave up anything to get him, and don't forget, we also got tht 2nd rounder that helped up move up to get Girgensons

It's tough to make those Blockbuster deals that we all seem to want
And as been said many times,
Do teams really want our "junk" anyways?

This might be a minority opinion,
But I'm ok w Darcy

We desperately need at least TWO top4, tough, defensive defensemen

wait.. what?...

He asked about Patrick Roy's son who got into a fight as a goalie... and I replied back "wrong son" meaning it as Roy's other son Frederick who plays for the Americans....

I wasn't calling the poster "son"...

Minnesota could be a possible destination.. .I know I have heard that they want to unload Danny Heatley's massive contract but I don't want anything to do wit him... I would rather ask for Clutterbuck or Setoguchi back...

I think EDM is another realistic landing place for Stafford. Stafford's uncle is their equipment manager.
