is that saying much? - homiedclown
He's actually played very well. But he's a completely different type of Dman from everyone else, other than Regehr. It's all about positioning, punishing a guy when he goes into the corner, making the simple play.
Get the puck. Make a pass. Repeat. That's his game.

Yep.
And he seems like a funny guy.

i want to post something about being the gold medal winner at the special olympics but that is very offensive and really doesn't show respect to the disabled.. but that is kind of how i feel, minus the disrespect to disabled

Which in previous seasons he has been awful at outlet or breakout passes, he was a turnover machine. Which is why Leo or Sekera have been his partners, as long as they don't change that he could be fine

Lather rinse repeat.
This team needs another defenseman just like him. I think Regehr's better days are behind him.

I said it when the trade went down that he wasn't the guy everyone remembered watching a few years ago. He should be nothing more than a 4/5 and the problem would be they would try and use him like a 2.

Sekera is fine. I have no problem with him in the D zone. I do get frustrated watching some of the decisions he's made in the offensive zone, but that's not really his job anyway. I'm ok with him as long as he's consistent in the d zone.

Imagine if 4 other guys played that way for us - homiedclown
This is the type of game I've been waiting to see him play. I've always liked Weber and hoped he could pull it together. Maybe I just want to see him succeed since he facewashed Crosby.

Agreed... it seems like we have one guy for each pairing but no partner....
Ehrhoff - ??
Myers - ??
Sekera - ??
where do we fit in the remaining guys... I hope that Myers becomes a 1-2 but him and Ehrhoff together just didn't mesh well..

Sekera aside from the 1 play against Toronto has been all around solid. He has always been a very good 2nd pairing defenseman, it's when he is expected to be the number 1 guy he struggles. Kind of like everyone else on the team. He was really good last year up until Myers and Ehrhoff were out at the same time

2 years ago in Colorado he played 4th line mins and played the 2nd unit pp, he had 14g and 11a. That's 4th line numbers IMO. - dadeadhead
If they're going to use the 4th line the right way with him on it, I'd be ok with it. The problem is, with the way this team is currently constructed he'd get 6 minutes and have to play with John Scott.
