i don't understand all the love for Ruff.. He was handed Hasek when he first came here and a good team after the lockout.. outside of those 4 years the team has been terrible. - SabresFaninIndiana
This situation mirrors Bill Cowher of the Pittsburgh Steelers, although Cowher did finally win one. |

I practically fell out of my chair laughing at one of our players saying that they ran out of gas in the third because of the Montreal game the day before.
Haha how could you have possibly been tired after that game? You didn't even show up to play. |

Four playoff appearances in the last 10 years. Last year they had losing streaks of three-plus games 6 times (by comparison, I believe Boston did it two times). Any city in the NHL and that gets you fired, except Buffalo.
Now we are dealing with just odd behavior. Jochen Hecht is guy who in his prime, didn't hit, go to the net, or stand up for his teammates. At 35, he should probably be out of the league. Not only does Buffalo keep him employed at over a million for the year, they play him top 6 minutes. This unexplainable decision-making by Ruff.
I have heard that Terry Pegula is a super nice guy and obviously he is a very successful businessman, but right now, he may be the worst owner in sports. His blind loyalty to Reiger and Ruff is killing the team and frustrating the fans beyond belief.
This team is probably not elite, but given the right coach, they should be average at worst, and probably above-avergae. |

I like Ruff a lot, but midway through last year it became clear he needed to go. - nfph
I think that seems to be the general consensus but I just don’t see Regier or Pegula having the stones to send him packing. A very sad situation indeed, a great owner who will spend money but just can’t get out of the way of his Blue & Gold childhood memories. |

Most of their mistakes are mental. Even the Montreal game, if Ennis and/or Foligno bury even one of the two golden chances they had in the 2nd, it's a completely different game. I'm not saying that they can't improve, but talent isn't the main issue here. It's mental, and probably a willingness to play for their coach. They're often just not on the same page. |

Absolutely agree... All Pegula has done is provide the players a nice locker room........ He sucks as an owner..... |

Rangers have Lundqvist, the trade would cost more than just Miller, we don't need scoring defense we need forwards, we already have too many D. Sorry man |

They ran out of gas before the 3rd period, not in the 3rd period. After Ennis failed to score on that breakaway, they failed to sustain any more pressure.
On the bright side, this Super Bowl won me $400. - buffalofan19
Hate to be the people that had the score before the safety......worked for me however, hit the final because of it on 2 pools......won $600 between the two of them |

I know they have Lundqvist. It was a bit of sarcasm on that part.
But do you really think our overabundance of D is reason to not get better on our back end...because they're really sucking it up this year. |

The sabres have the talent to match up against any team. That's why Garth REGIER ruff ,you belong on the sabres payroll. Because you believe that. The sabres are awful .jochen Hecht,Matt Ellis,Cody McCormick, drew stafford,Robyn regehr,Jordan Leopoldo,Nathan gerbe are not good hockey players. Wake up and realize these guys will not make the playoffs for 4 of the last 6 years. If vanek and pominville who for the career aren't even a point a game guys, were not at a Gretzky like start,we would not have won one game |

I really believe that Lindy Ruff is the issue. He needs a change of scenery and so do the Sabres. They don't have the attitude of a winning team and that starts from within. Maybe a less soft spoken Captain too? I like Pominville but I don't see him as a great Captain. You need character guys for that role plain and simple.
And Myers honestly needs to see a psychiatrist. |
