This is not getting enough attention
Hecht got 3 more minutes of ice time then the player of the week, Vanek yesterday - homiedclown
I wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with the back to back schedule. Either that or there was an issue with either Pommer or Cody, since they're names on the list of the 5 guys that didn't skate today, of which 2 of the 5 are doubtful for tomorrow. |

He's more of a 2nd or 3rd line guy. He has 39 points in 42 games. Is that someone you're putting on your 4th line? - HonkFortheGoose
so he would be worth a look on the 3rd line over hecht? |

depth
someone that doesnt matter if he plays or not and wont kill your team if you have an injury and need to replace someone
if he didnt take 1 shift for grigorenko at the end of the toronto game nobody is complaining about him. - robz228
I was prior, and will continue, until he's benched or shows even a little value. I get that he's depth, but depth belongs on the bench until the team is totally strapped. |

because arguing about ruff making poor personnel decisions isnt fun. theres no opposing point of view |

Enough said - sbroads24
no body is arguing that.. but IMO gerbe is worse, he is a defensive liability and can't score either.. in a pinch i would rather have ellis out there |

Yes it is. Matt ellis and John scott are the reason we can't roll 4 lines of actual hockey players, tough to stay fresh in a compressed schedule when you have 9 forwards. On a team that can't score it's insulting to suggest someone is Roch scores too much to be here - sbroads24
You'd need to bring in an entire 4th line that would be capable of scoring then. It would be an insult to bring him here and ask him to play with John Scott. How would that be fair to him?
This is the guy that's the captain of the AHL team. The 4th line isn't the problem around here right now. If that's what your targeting, I'm a little scared. |

Not to mention it's false he's not a defensive liability, in the 6 minutes I have seen him the last couple games he's had a few turnovers, plus he can't skate well enough to back check |

I would think so. He seems to have a good knack for being able to get points, so that's more than Hecht has been contributing. |

I haven't had too much of a problem with Hecht on the ice so far, just how much he's been on the ice. As long as he stays bottom 6, I couldn't care less whether he's here or not. It's the top 6 that need to start playing well, and right now only 2 and a half of the 6 are doing that (I'm beginning to think Hodgson is simply benefiting from Vanek being on his line). |

hecht should be on that 4th line.. we need to be better in lines 2 and 3.. this team isn't allowed to score without Vanek on the ice. |

Because the coach is Lindy Ruff and he's an idiot. |

It's amazing how the tides have turned. Last year, the mantra was: "Lindy and Darcy both need to go, but if I could only choose one, it would be Darcy". Darcy Regier makes one trade; the coach starts to mismanage his roster, and all of a sudden you have a vice versa, and I think I'm in that group. Thomas Vanek is currently 60th among NHL forwards in ice time. That's just wrong. - buffalofan19
Theres a fine line where you can give a forward too many minutes and it negatively impacts that player, Lindy however isn't even in the ballpark with his proximity to that line. Gross under usage of the hottest player in the league. Frankly inexcusable. |

I'll give Hodgson a lot of credit for skating hard, going to the net, and staying open for the other two... He's also finished a few really nice plays this year. |

The lines 2-4 are the biggest problem on the team. The defense is a close 2nd. You can't tell me this team would not be better off with Scott and ellis on the bench. |

They played the same amount of shifts. Hecht 'outstayed some shifts'.
Dont shoot the messenger.

I disagree with the Hodgson thing. He's made some really nice plays to help keep offensive pressure. I think he's right where he belongs. Have you ever seen Vanek look this good before? I think the two of them work well together. |
