Agreed about everything you have to say about ennis! I loved him his rookie year and even last year. But this year with his girly haircut and what you just said really irks me. He has a lot of potential and could easly be a 60+ guy. He has got to mature though obviously and soon.
- Smittyx36

Agreed,
He's also really young though
He's got time to mature, and ubthink can be a dynamic player for us

That line will start scoring
And if we get the Grigorenko line scoring too, then look out
It's no secret I'm a BIG Armia guy,
I'm almost positive he'll be in a Sabres uniform before the end of the season & could be just what the doctor ordered to get that 3rd line producing

unless they turn it around and get in serious contention why would buffalo waste a year of his ELC

I'd rather get younger at this point. I was merely stating before that I'm not agreeing with your point of Leino's contract being "terrible" simply because I think it's too early to say that for sure. Do I like what I've seen from him so far? No. But I'm not writing him off either.
- HonkFortheGoose

I got ya...
I agree Leino can still be a fine player
I'm hoping he can be the piece that gets our 3rd line jump started
Even if he does though,
I still think that was a bad deal
(if that makes any sense)

I think we are in the process of getting younger

I don't wanna blow it up just yet though,
Bc if we make a couple moves to solidify our defense this could be a dangerous team

That might sound crazy,
But it's also the difference in hanging on to a one or two goal lead

Why would they when the fans keep packing the place? I say that only half serious, but honestly, its amazes me that the fans keep buying their product.

I havent bought a ticket in at least 5 years...Ive been to games because of hand outs, but I never buy tickets. Their product isnt worth my money.

Once the building is 70% full on a consistent basis instead of 100% full maybe Terry will look around and question whats going on.

- Homer

I gotta believe that Terry doesn't just look at the bottom line. I think he's probably an owner who would be thrilled to just break even every year, as opposed to making sh!tloads of $$$, as long as the team is winning.

So, with that being said, I gotta believe he isn't very happy at all right now.

Honest question... You are a penguins fan obviously...

but do you even watch all or any of the Sabres games???? You give a lot of "insight" and "recommendations" but I am just curious on if you watch?

- JVince11

Maybe if Terry Pegula would whine and female dog like Mario (see: Move the franchise) to get the the draft lottery fixed in his favor we could have 5 top 5 picks in 5 years between 2002-2006.

2002 - Ryan Whitney 5th overall
2003 - MA Fleury 1st overall
2004 - E. Malkin 2nd overall
2005 - S. Crosby 1st overall
2006 - J. Stall 2nd overall

EDIT: Whitney might have been before Mario took over but still, that is insane...

He is a good Pk'er HardHat.... but I don't like him there any more than anyone else... it is either that or call up all the kids... Luke Adam and Brian Flynn on that 3rd line next to Ott might not be soo bad.

I believe that you're allowed to bring in a guy after his season in another league is up and have it not count against his ELC

Can anyone back that up?
Or am I incorrect?

I have no idea, but it would make sense. A lot of teams do stuff like that. I think Minny did that with some guys late last year.

Kevin Sylvester said a little while ago that it's a hip injury and he hasn't heard any word on his progress or how long they expect him out

I'm curious to know wtf is going on though?
Seems like there's no info out there about the injury

I think it was after the loss to the Pens, where we got blown out in PGH.

He was outside the dressing room, and reports were he looked like he wanted to kill someone. He didn't want to sugarcoat it for reporters, and one of his men (Sawyer, I believe) tried to shut him up, and he told him no, that it needed to be said.

The players deserve most of the blame....but the great majority of people on this board just wanna blame Ruff and the "system". The system is fine, maybe they are sick of hearing Ruff's voice, and thats understandable...he should have been canned a while ago.......BUT, this mess is more on the players.

Lindy is the same coach that had a team that won the Presidents trophy and went to back ECF's. Did he all of a sudden get dumb? No, they players arent as good as they were back then. Simple.

- Homer

I'll ding Ruff for his use of personnel. Sytems, etc... I think we're ok. But he uses his backups poorly, and clearly favors the lunchbox types on this team more than is reasonable. For all the handholding they've done in the past 15 years, he seems out of sync with his GM in using the personnel that is brought in.

Of course, personnel is kind of a big part of the job.

And I actually really like Lindy.

I def have seen other teams do it...
I think that's why I assume it wouldn't count against the ELC,
Bc otherwise it just wouldn't make sense to bring them up for a handful of games

I'll try & research this

Opposite. According to Panaccio right at the start of the season, it's the opposite hip from last time and supposedly Leino wishes he would have just had the surgery on both when he had it done. It was during the offseason he was a UFA and we signed him.

Right?
I didn't even know that it was for sure his hip until today
I'll I heard was "lower body"
It's def strange there is little-no info about Leino's injury

If its serious,
Maybe we should just buy him out now?
