Personally, I don't care if Ruff is here or not. Is he a help, is he hinderance? Is he really that bad? Is he any good? I mean it's the same stagnant discussion over and over again.

Is he going to be here next season?

Count on it.

Will we be having these exact same discussion when we hit the same kind of slump next season?

Absolutely.

I'm not trying to piss in another man's cheerio's here, but, seriously? What is it with all the trades and firings and revamps everyone throws up every time this happens?

Like, I get it. I get the frustration, it's obvious, I was imagining what I'd be telling the team in the locker room, but seriously, it's embarressing, the extremes our 'fans' are willing to throw up on here.

It's not gonna change a thing. Ruff is still here. The team is still here.

They'll figure it out.

- TSchiefer

I'm sorry but i dont think its extreme to fire ruff. He has been here a very long time and we have missed the playoffs 3 out of the past 5 years i believe and its looking like its gonna happen this year as well. I also dont find it extreme to wanna trade Stafford. The guy is so streaky and just doesn't show up when needed most.

Only thing thats extreme is wanting to trade Myers. I want this because IMO he has gotten worse every year since his rookie year.

Change cant hurt this already hurting team...

Hey Homer anything new from good ole Sabreland??? Rumblings of any kind at all? I know that Darcy does not panic but holy hell it does not take a rocket scientist to tell that this is not working.

Or just the same old "keep on course" stuff

Also what do you think that chances are that Vanek decides to test the market after the 13/14 season?

- rustbelt82

I dont know for sure, but I doubt their is any panic, thats half the problem.

I think he is a head case too, but his interview yesterday was spot on. This team leaves him out out to dry game in and game out.
- Homer

That I agree with. Like I said I think he is a top 10 goalie in this league regardless of what his stats reflect.

But off the ice and even on the ice he seems to be a Dbag lol.

Don't get me wrong I like how this team is setup for the future for the most part. But I'm not a fan of the moves Darcy has made since pegula came in. Yes he has drafted great "although we will have to wait and see for that". But leino, myers, stafford piss me off. Myers was worth maybe 4m at most after two seasons of just being okay.
- Smittyx36

I said it then, and now EVERYONE agrees, the Leino signing was just terrible...
He'll be bought out after this season- they know they Fd that one up

I don't necissarily disagree with your thinking in general, but...

Stafford's deal is fine for what he normally produces... I can understand u wanting him gone...
But if Ott can start winning faceoffs for Ennis on that line,
I think we'll see them start scoring
And if they do, Staff will again be worth his deal
Would I like to "upgrade" his spot to someone like Perry?
Of course
But I think the defense needs to be taken care of first
And there is the salary cap to think about

Myers should've gotten a smaller 2-3 year deal, I agree
The kid is feeling the pressure IMO,
Get him a solid-vet to play with and he'll straighten out
We get Myers to be useful again, and his deal also won't look so bad

The players deserve most of the blame....but the great majority of people on this board just wanna blame Ruff and the "system". The system is fine, maybe they are sick of hearing Ruff's voice, and thats understandable...he should have been canned a while ago.......BUT, this mess is more on the players.

Lindy is the same coach that had a team that won the Presidents trophy and went to back ECF's. Did he all of a sudden get dumb? No, they players arent as good as they were back then. Simple.

- Homer

When the team doesn't seem to buy into what the coach says, doesn't play hard for the coach or even like the coach, I think that's a big problem

Lindy may not be a bad coach (I think he's overrated) but his time is up. He can't motivate these guys and they tune him out. This team is in shambles under his watch. He and Darcy have let it get to this point. This team needs a new direction and voice.

Everybody is to blame from Pegula on down

Please don't try to pretend that you know how everybody thinks and reacts to this team. Thank you

You're right. Because it isn't abundantly clear. No, in fact, thank you. Your condescencion is really the authoritative response I've been looking for.

Miller is a dbag in just about every interview I have him in! He is a very hard goalie to like even when he is playing amazing.

I don't think it was terrible. I think so far it hasn't worked out how they would like, but it's only been 1 year. The Wade Redden contract was terrible. The Scott Gomez contract was terrible. Leino's isn't great, but it's not terrible either.

It wasn't condescending. You just keep lumping everybody into the same bunch. You say if the Sabres win we feel this way and if they lose, we feel this way. You haven't gotten how I feel in spacific situations correct.

I know you're trying to come off as a know-it-all but you're far from it. And no, I don't think everything I say is correct either. I just don't look down at everybody just because they have a different opinion than I do

I think the question is, are all of you new to it? This is every year. Why are these slumps surprises to everyone? Then as soon as Miller kicks into high gear and the team goes on a run, suddenly Ruff isn't so bad, Miller can stay, yadda yadda yadda.
- TSchiefer

no we are not that is why are frustrated.. i haven't wanted ruff gone for about 3 years now.. he isn't cutting it as a coach. Slumps and mad dashes are not the make up of a champion

No... Thats not what I'm saying. He is also a cry baby, voices his opinion like a arrogant SOB, and probably isn't to well liked around the league. Does that make me say trade him? No.

Its just me complaining lol

I think the Leino deal is getting very close to being terrible. The guy cant stay healthy! Why the heck did he not get the surgery during the lockout??? Dumb

Why would they when the fans keep packing the place? I say that only half serious, but honestly, its amazes me that the fans keep buying their product.

I havent bought a ticket in at least 5 years...Ive been to games because of hand outs, but I never buy tickets. Their product isnt worth my money.

Once the building is 70% full on a consistent basis instead of 100% full maybe Terry will look around and question whats going on.

agreed. tough to like for the past couple years. thought his comments after the toronto debacle were refreshing, then back to his old schtick yesterday...

as a goalie myself it feels like he is a black cloud over this team. the goalie as the team leader doesnt work IMO. didnt in vancouver with lou as the capt. just sets him up to be ostricized by his team. lucic game a coincidence?

the goalie needs to blend into the wallpaper. no coincidence that when enroth stepped in longer term for miller injury the team skated through walls for him. same when biron was here.

whether he is correct or not- goalie vocally criticizing the team never helps because he is not out there skating. same as a player criticizing a goalie- goalie just thinks they have no idea what they are talking about.

In a lot of cases these things can be rehabbed instead of having surgery. They aren't planning on doing surgery either. I don't think he was having issues during the lockout. I think something happened during camp, because he was fine that whole week and right at the end is when he missed practice.
