Whitney's a rental. He has trade value...as small as it may be...because if he doesn't work out, a team isn't stuck with a big, ugly contract to deal with.
Are people just in denial that the cap ceiling is going down next season, not up? Half the teams in the league will be scrambling to clear cap. - Maxbone
I thought they already decided what the cap was for next yeaR? |

Agreed. If the team continues to take penalties like they have been I dont like where it is heading. Hopefully Lander and Petrell/Paajarvi(?) can fill in adequately. - sanfordnson
I think that's our problem. We need the other vets on this team to step up, we need the Eberle/Hall/Yak to play smarter. |

and without Horcoff and Belanger, the puck posession game will take a hit. Our two best faceoff guys are out. They're all going to have to play smarter. |

For this season, the cap ceiling this season is $60mil, but teams are allowed to spend to $70mil. I know, it makes no sense, but that's how it is. in 2013/2014, the cap ceiling will be $64.3mil and the cap floor will be $44mil. From 2014/2015 on, the cap ceiling will be set to 50% of HRR, and the floor will be $16mil less. |

Take or officiating hate??? Most of this years calls were BS against the oil and NO thats not with Oil goggles on just yet...
Belanger was looking very solid this year... He is so damn awesome at draws and he was actually offensive a few games too... It sucks to have injury alter his momentum... Horcoff wins draws... and is good from the oppositions blue line to our goaltender... anything offensive is horrendous... and please for the love of wins Kreuger- keep Smyth off the (frank)ing power play!!!!!!!! |

Every team's fans say that. Complaining about the refs is going to get you nowhere. |

I say we have a chance to win if hemsky can make his passes tonight and actually pass the puck to Yakupov once in a while... I think opposition is having a tough time with our top 6 - obviously not physically but damn we actually have a solid top 2 lines in hockey- if they continue to gel look out! What would make us better is for Nuge to pot in a goal to gain some confidence back... mind you I am loving his defensive play and aggression... no one mentions this... but for as small as he is wt wise he has been throwing hits too |

|
Ya as was I, he was actually looking good between Harti and PRV. - longbottom
For sure besides the hall ebs nuge line was my fav to watch love the way harti digs in and grinds behind the net also pvr was starting to look good with his play hopefully he keeps it up bow that he's back I really wanna see the kid succeed in edm |

Why will horcoff need to be bought out to get under 64 million?

Shawn Horcoff has ZERO trade value. The Oilers would have moved him 100 times by now if he had a trade value. - Maxbone
Just like Luongo, Horcoff's contract is the albatross to his trade. As the amount of actual money owed drops so does the opposite action of his trade. |

Huh? How do you figure? That play at the end? That just as easily could have been called offensive pass interference. Good non-call by the officials. - sanfordnson
You cousins with Phil Simms?? Cause many analysts said that there should have been a call... the defender had 2 arms around Crab... further this will be discussed for some time... |

and look at Crabtree shove off. Guess what? Cant do that. Refs let em battle and Crabtree lost. Pass likely would have been out of his reach anyways. |

Rentals are meant to help push teams over the hump, not be projects. Look at the numbers. Khabi being done alone makes the cap ceiling not much of an issue. They're not buying out Horc. - sanfordnson
You cannot argue with him...he has a source.

I guess some see it differently... there I think you could coin flip it IMO... either way its a hot topic... but in all reality as I had a chance to sleep over it... It boggles me why the 9ers did not try Gore or Kaep.. they truly had 4 plays to get it in... further they were still tangling passed the line of scrimmage-- in the game I was watching the review on the opposite camera angle |

Exactly. Their play calling in the redzone was awful all game. and before the power outage they were really getting their asses handed to them. I rooted for the Ravens mainly because I despise Jim Harbaugh and his tantrums but even I was mystified as to why the Niners didn't go to Gore. Ravens were waiting for Kaep down low. They weren't going to give him anything. |

Maybe...but legally would have been off-setting calls so no call was the right decision. |

Off setting calls is still a replay the down I do believe. |

Yeah. Still think it was the right no-call. Let em fight it out. At least saskoil is being reasonable about it. Niners fans on twitter were making me want to vomit with their crying. Even worse was Harbaugh crying about it after the game. Im not even a fan of either team but (frank)in Jim Harbaugh is the most annoying and whiny coach in the NFL.
