Montreal isn't a terrible team, but they aren't anywhere near the top, despite their fast start. Getting rolled like this by a team like Montreal means you have problems.

The Sabres aren't a top team quite yet either, but I wouldn't worry too much about this one, you'll get your stinkers every once in a while, hell we just came off one against the team we're playing tomorrow.

The defense will clean up and the secondary scoring will kick in and you'll be fine.

Other than Evander Kane, the Jets forward group is not good.

Tavares is the only one worth anything on the Islanders.

Fair enough. If you followed the conversation, you'd know I was just disagreeing with a belief that the Habs have a strong forward lineup. I didn't think this was controversial, if anything the Habs' strength in goal and on D with a healthy Markov.

Not really, but Bourque, the kids and so far today Eller have stepped up in the absence of Max Pacs. The two Gallys have been just fantastic in only a few games. Helps out a lot, cant just shut down the habs 1st line any longer.

True say - I don't honestly think there's much of a difference between any of the NE division teams other than Boston, it just so happens that Mtl and Ott have played well so far, Tor OK, and Buff godawful thus far. Whether it's chemistry, coaching, or a hot/cold streak causing it is beyond me.

When you have a short season, with only a week of preseason prep, you are going to see some strange things happen early. Teams will play out of character for better and/or worse. Some are going to come out hot, and others are going to come out ice cold. I bet the Sabres will hit their stride sooner or later, but the question is, will it be too late?

I would take Moulson, Grabner, Nielsen, and Okposo over both Ennis and Stafford.

Probably because you noticed it yourself. It's not the Vanek thing all over again because this kid is only 18. He definitely looks like he would be a good candidate for Gary Roberts power skating program though.

Nope. Didn't notice it myself. He's not a smooth skater though. He worked really hard in the offseason working on it. I heard an interview with him. He's a big guy, so his skating isn't going to look the same as Ennis.

A lot of the analysts were saying that people were going to say he's not working hard enough when he's skating because of the way he looks when he's doing it. He has really long strides, so it looks like he's not really moving his feet.
