It's cool. Freedom of speech is numero uno. You can call me a Richard....still cool.

I'm not writing off Read or Coots - one will be a very good versatile player and the other a great defensive forward. Neither solves the issue we have, which is a goal scoring sniper for G. I agree we ride the kids and add Perry or Kessel or best available when time is right.

If everyone agreed all of the time, there wouldn't be much to talk about.

Not in the defenseman category for UFA's. Which I think is the biggest need for the Flyers. Corey Perry interests me in the Forward category.

Perry is #1 on my list of wanted forwards that can be had. He's gritty, fast, good hands, can score, chirps well, fight, does everything.

Stealing Da Man's material can only mean one thing - you're right.

I dont think concussion. He got elbowed in the nose, causing a break or near break. I suspect one week with some goofy face shield. The ref should get suspended, even more so than the player. It caused an unnecessary fight between unrelated players to the incident. Horrible.
- Daman

I assume you have seen the hit right?
Concussions are not only caused by the motion of the hit.

1. He hit is head on the ice very hard
2. His body entered the fetal position which is common to concussions during the point of impact.
3. Whiplash injury which can also cause them.

I say we have a better chance of trading Read and Rinaldo for Ovechkin then him not having a concussion.

Anything in the new CBA against a team resigning such player at lower cost? If Briere doesn't want to leave, Flyers want the cap space... and given the track record of the management team with how they do whatever it takes by the letter of the law

Erskine does have a phone based hearing so I assume its still limited to 3 games since it is not in person.

Can't re-sign a player that you used the compliance buyout on, for one Season.

If a player is bought out, he can't rejoin the team that did the buyout for a calendar year. In any way shape or form. Trade, re-signing, waivers...nothing, zip, zilch, nada

No worries, I appreciate the clarification because I didn't even think about a trade or rejoining the team by waivers at first.

His head hitting the ice was the icing on that cake.

I can't believe it'll be good news. Shame.

Mr Optimism is suggesting we get Iginla. Says he will only cost a Laughton package. Wtf?

Iginla will be a UFA, if we want him this summer he'll be free. Iginla won't solve the problems alone. Hartnell-Giroux-Iginla would be cool for a few seasons, but never should we deal for him in a shortened season. No guarantee he would re-sign, and it costs us Laughton +? Geez...
