I think it could get worse which wouldn't be good.

Right now, there's only one guy who can make it worse imo

This team has had a different roster almost, if not every game. Briere was out, hartnell and mezzy have been out. Rinaldo Shelley ad Sestito have all been in and out of the line up. This team hasn't had a chance to build chemistry and get in a groove. That doesn't excuse all of the issues they are having by any means, but having new lines an players every game doesn't help.

Study the 2013 draft class........I am going that way, any move they make now will likely cost too much & may not help do much in the long run.

I sit tight, keep my picks & be overjoyed with this draft which is DEEP.

- ob18

A move of say timonen for a pick in a deep draft might be smart if we are out of it come the tdl.

How does it get worse, they've only won 2 games and look completely lost.

It sucks to watch, but I'm in the camp of stay as is and see how it plays out.

So the whole team is in a slump at the same time if they can turn it around in time this might be a good thing. Slump now, hit full stride going into the playoffs.
- LJF

They're last in the conference with about 40 games left. They have to hit bottom here, can't afford to make the hole bigger b/c there's just not that much time this year to dig out.

I'd consider that but only if they are out of it near the TDL to land more picks.........I actually thank the lockout for allowing me to really get to watch some CHL games and know more of the players in this draft.

But for now it's too early to think about even that option.

That's a simple question to answer. More injuries. Additional players will go down long before Hartnell and Meszaros get back. You can take that to the bank.

All these games can't be helping timonen. Would be nice if we had a little more depth on the blue line so they could afford to let him sit a game here or there. He doesn't look completely healthy yet.

Maybe they should hire you to scout? Are you a best player in the draft or a need kinda guy.. I'd go for a dman this time..

Also, of note, looks like I'll be coming down to Philly to watch the March 7th game vs Pitt in case you or some of the other buzzards wanna meet up.

Injuries have a direct effect on everything. Team can't build any cohesion with different guys in the lineup every game. Not to mention when you have guys like Simmonds, Hartnell, and Meszaros being replaced by the likes of Sestito, Shelley, Lilja it's an enormous drop off.

Yes but they've been bad since game one. A loss is a loss

The individual performances are what's concerning to me. Giroux's not responding to the increased defensive attention, Couturier seemed to forget he was on the ice in the waning minutes last night, in general most of the roster's play is frustrating.

Depends for me.

If the choice comes down to a forward or a guy who is striclty projected to be a defensive or offensive d-man I take the forward.

This goes along with my view on Yandle. I think if the Flyers are going to give up assests, and spend a decent chunk of their cap, I want that d-man to be fairly good in all areas. Not just specialize in one.

Agreed. It's hard to imagine things getting much worse. If Bryzgalov's play drops off then it's a full fledged trainwreck.

Yes I prefer the best player available simply because you don't jump somebody up your board just to fill a need.

If they want to hire me I'm available. I have a few d-men I like and I really like Josh Morrissey http://www.mynhldraft.com...t-Profiles/Josh-Morrissey

There are higher ranked d-men but I really think he has amazing upside. But he as of right now is say a mid round 1 pick.

Agreed. I'm really unhappy with couturier and Schenn so far. I was really hoping they could take the next step. It's still early of course, but there's not as much time as usual for them to figure it out

I think this is where confidence and lack of NHL experience comes into play. Even Brayden Schenn who I will openly admit I dislike as of right now, started playing better after his goal.

It's hard for me to blame Giroux. Aside from Briere who does he really have to help him out on offense? Matt Read? The guy is young. Lets not do to him what was done to Richards.

The guy needs a supporting cast, because right now if you swarm Giroux the odds of the Flyers scoring against you are slim to none.

Giroux has been forcing bad passes and not as strong defensively either this yea so far. I don't think it's all a product of not having the right line mates

Hartnell, Meszaros, Gus, Simmonds now possibly, Briere coming off an injury, Giroux looks like he might be nursing something, Timonen looking his age, probably hurting as well. These are key players on our injury front. We may not get much better until we get healthier.

2 goals or fewer in 7 of the 8 games, and Simmonds, and Hartnell are out. The two power forwards on the team who were top goal scorers last year.

It's hard to see where the goals are going to come from with this current roster.

Hartnell and Meszaros are probably 3 weeks away at least. Who knows what Simmonds status is. Have to be realistic, by the time these guys get back they will probably be out of the playoff race.

The worst thing that can happen is for Ownership to think they can salvage this season with shortsighted band-aid trades.

It is time to be real. The Flyers needed a winger. On top of that, they are down 2 more. In short, they now F'ing suck.

Its ok. A step backward for 2 forward. Big time free agents next year. Cap room. High draft pick poentially.

Take this time to spend extra moments with your wife (spouse), kids, and remaining family. It is what is most important.

Agreed. He's going to be marked for overcoverage from now on, so he needs to find a way to deal with it. It's part of being an elite player, finding ways to elevate your game. As with Schenn and Couturier, the only solution is to keep playing and work it out.

As for the poor passing, this team in general needs to cut that poop out.
