You're quoting a journalist, im going by what Nonis said. That offer makes no sense, and until there is a reason to think otherwise, Ill take Nonis word for it that he wont trade young players for older players, especially ones with bad contracts.

I totally agree with you. I think all GMs use the public media and make "suggestions and rumours" to anonymous bloggers ( no one named like Ek - or any team... like Philadelphia).

Burke was always easy to see through. Gillis has, up to this point always taken a pretty consistent high quality stand, but his recent comments could be interpreted to try to shake up the marketplace.

I remember Burke bragging that after the Bure trade was done, he would reveal every other offer that a team made. And he did. But he said there was not another single offer. History tells us that was a an outright lie to hsi own fanbase.

Now that was an example of a lie. Whether or not Nonis saying he will not trade youth or Gillis saying there is another suitor... those are open to conjecture and opinion.

Careful, such a small window of stats is the telling of a weak arguement.

Are you kidding? The guy's been playing big minutes and has looked awesome. Fitness level has nothing to do with this.

The first few games, he would get back to the bench winded and exhausted. Only the last two games has he looked dangerous and his speed is just starting to show. He'll break his slump in the next game or two

I don't understand how Burke got fired and Gillis is still employed.

Guy's done nothing other than re-signing players, as they age and the team continues downhill.

All that roster needed was a GM with at least 1 ball to add in the finishing touches, but other than adding super-stars like Higgins, he couldn't even begin to do that.
