This is a huge game for the Leafs. Psychologically, a win gives them the mindset that they can make the playoffs. Leafs lost every game to the Bruins, a year ago, and were manhandled. Since they only get them 4 times, this year, a win goes a long way into getting themselves positioned in the standings. If the Leafs can make it to 15 points in 12 games, they have a legitimate shot at a playoff birth. The first quarter of this season appears to be their toughest stretch.

It was, but as big and strong as Chara is, he doesn't often seem to fight those who would stand a chance against him. Whether that's a directive from CJ to not disadvantage the team by going off in exchange for a goon is another thing though...

Chara fought Larouqe, was years ago though. I think if Orr drops his gloves and jumps Chara, Chara will fight back. I don't want Orr to do that though.

If we aren't in a position to drop into the bottom 5, then we might as well try to make a run at a playoff spot. Right now, I'm looking at teams that are vulnerable and we could get ahead of and stay ahead of. Right now, I see 3 teams making it out of the Northeast, 3 teams making it out of the Atlantic and 2 teams making it out of the southeast. We might be able to get ahead of the Habs and Sabres, in the Northeast. Two of Philly, New Jersey and the Islanders will miss the playoffs.......they play each other too many times. In the southeast, I only see Tampa and Carolina as teams that that have a shot, as of right now. Florida and Winnipeg look like toast and Washington is sleepwalking into oblivion. A playoff spot is there for the taking, if they can keep playing at the same clip that they're playing now.
