FU Burrows. My gawd that guy is a clown. The funny thing is that it was Burrows that started this whole BS thing with the hair pulling incident in 09. Since that wonderful 4th grade style fight its been down hill. Glad he still likes to run his mouth.. Hey Alex..meet Mr. Andrew Shaw. |

Glad to see that the Sharks are getting all the love. Better for Hawks to maybe get a chip on their shoulder. I do find it funny how everyone sings the praises of Sharks. Team is older and slower and will struggle versus Hawks....again.
Vancouver has bigger problems then chasing Keith around. When Andrew Ebbet and Dale Weiss are regular second liners...then lets be real about depth etc...Regardless of injuries. - TrueGrit
2-2 last year between Sharks and Hawks seems like not a struggle.
Disagree on slow. Especially in their top six. Absent of injuries... Like they fell victim last year... They are a very well constructed team. AND Burns hasn't played a game yet. |

I'd rather see:
Sharp/Toews/Hossa
Saad/Bolland/Kane
Bickel/Shaw/Stalberg
Bollig/Kruger/Frolik
Sharp would probably jump start the first line, and perhaps Kane's "magic" with the puck would help get Saad on the scoresheet. I don't think we break up our 3rd line as they've been playing very well so far, so if it's not broke, don't fix it! 4th line also clicking pretty well with some size, speed, and grit. Bollig isn't perfect obviously, but he's an upgrade over Scott or anything we've had there in a while, with all due respect to Mayers... - nelli312
agree the first change to make. |

Your opinion matters nothing because of your member pic. |

I'd put Kane with someone who can finish. Keep Kane with Sharp or Hossa. - RickyBear
Keep stick on the ice and anyone can finish with Kane giving them the puck |

That's too bad, I was hoping we would all gradually learn to be friends.
With that stinging barb, I'll slither back to the Canucks board.
Good luck. Here's hoping for a good hockey game and no injuries to either team |

1. Our, as in the team from Our city that We cheer for. It shouldn't be too difficult to understand so i'll just give you a bit more time to process it.
2. Classy, as in donate time and plenty of money to various charities. I don't think he's ever had a major penalty in his career.
3. Of course it's diving, nobody would ever be guilty of an infraction of a top scorer in the league.
4. He has more goals than Kane or Toews, but maybe you didn't know that. It's gonna be hard to give all the credit to the Sedins seeing as how he has more points than Henrik. Yup, 1st line player.
5. Coming from the team that dressed John Scott in the playoffs?

From most accounts they are relatively classy though a lot of NHL players do charity work and the Hawk organIzation is big on this as well.
I do think you could define Hank's comments after ousting the Hawks in game 7 as less than charitable. Yes you beat them but I'm not sure it's classy to discount your opponent so by saying the Hawks were never really in it (don't remember exactly but it was something to that effect) when it took OT in the 7th game to get the job done.
Btw, I'm sure your aware diving is still only a minor penalty; so until they change the rule I'd say their record of no majors is pretty safe.

You will see, Hawks will outshoot them 35 18 next week and win. Plus, regardless of how well constructed, this team has underachieved for the last 6 years, which suggests they are over rated. Right now they are playing good hockey, but we will see how they deal with Hawks speed Tuesday. |

1) Better player than Scott, which isn't saying much. But can skate a shift 5 on 5 without killing you—hits people, and he has a very, very good wrist shot
2) More of a heavyweight than a super-heavyweight (like Scott or Boogard)
3) Cement jaw—will take another guys' best and just laugh
4) Fierce fighter, fears no one, has been trained as a boxer, and has power in both hands. Some tape I posted yesterday of a fight with MATT Kassian, where Kassian throws way more, has a low connect percentage, Bollig waits him out a la Probert, then starts hitting him with bombs. It's a credit to Kassian that his head didn't pop off. Bollig also almost tore Tootoo's ear off last year with a left hand. - John Jaeckel
I'll have to check him out, sounds like i would appreciate him - anyone the rips Tootoo a new one sounds like a decent guy... |

So if my francais serves me, they're talking Bickell for Eller but Bergy wants Stalberg too (?).
I can see Bickell plus a prospect. Doubt they would do Bickell plus Stalberg. - John Jaeckel
Actually, they're talking about Bickell for Eller + Yannick Weber, or Stalberg for Eller...weird that they value Bickell more, but like I said the site has a poor track record.
You gotta think there have been discussions with Bergevin though. I personally like Eller as a player alot and I think he's got some good untapped potential...just not sure there's room for him in the lineup as the Hawks would need some more grit instead.
That said, if the Hawks coudl snag him for a pick, it would be golden.
For those saying MTL wouldn't trade him for such a return, I can tell you that he's currently in the doghouse with Therrien and has been a bit fo a disappointment so far in MTL, but it's a city historically low on patience with youngsters. |

All too funny
Outside Vancouver
Survey says
Canucks are the most unpopular team in the League
The reasons are many
Heck I am a Canadian and I would cheer for the Russians ahead of them
Unless it was an Olympic Diving event in which case they receive 9.8's across the board and present the Sedins and Burrows with Gold!

The 'classy' argument is amusing to me. One side (Carcillo's season ending hit from behind last season, Keith on Sedin, Burish calling Pronger an idiot and saying he'd punch him... After already winning the cup) vs the other side (sedin's comments after they won the series, bieksa's hair pulling, city wide riots, and that dude that fueled the kieth hit). Neither is classy.... At least in Philly we are under no delusion of being class acts |

Sadly I think the Hawks will win this game in regulation by a couple of goals unless Luongo stands on his head or if the Hawks take too many penalties. 5 on 5, the Hawks have a solid advantage. |

>Recent trends Hawks need to improve:
>Solving the 2-man forecheck -- look for Canucks to start with it
Hawks need much better 5-man spacing to create better breakouts
>Shift length and line changes
Lines have been changing less and less as a unit with some players floating
around looking for a cherrypick, then getting caught playing D with 1/2 of the
other next line -- the rhythm of rolling four lines only works when ALL players
buy into it
>Faceoffs -- yes, Toews is always very good -- but
Other centers lose too many draws too cleanly
Hawk forwards are losing too many puck battles right off the draw
>Net Presence -- needs to be a priority
Goalies seeing Hawk shots far too easily these last few games
Need to actually block the goalie's view, not just stand in front of the net
>Hawks will play a solid game if they improve in these areas

At least we know this rivalry isn't dead, it's just been so long that some of us have lost the passion for it but it won't take too long for that to come back. - Nucker101
Should be good; can't wait for the puck to drop tonight. I think the ESPN sight said it was the best rivalry in hockey. I may be biased but definitely agree. It used to be the Wings and before them the Blues and North Stars. Now? Definitely the Canucks!

Pulling hair by itself is a bit weak I'll give you that much no problem, but if the guys is fish hooking you at the time i'd let go, after all it is a fight.
Speaking of fighting, how many has Bolland been in. He sure likes the cheap shyte, likes to pic on the Sedins and run his mouth about how soft they are...who oddly, last time i checked had the same amount of fighting majors.
Bolland must be soft...or scared, probobaly both.
