Then what can you get for him now, in a trade???

Is he helping this team currently?

No.

- bixll

I think he's still relatively highly regarded. Whenever I read people writing about the Islanders' "young talent" (in quotes because they usually include Moulson despite him being 29), Okposo's always one of the first mentioned. I really don't believe he's useless. But I'd be cool with moving him if someone overpays thinking they're getting that productive power forward he's always billed as.

I liked Hillen . Hickey is showing some promise. Give him some time. Amac has his moments where I feel like my head is going to explode. He continues to get minutes but to me he's not that great. He has yet to replicate his first season which was obviously great. I'm not saying Hickey is his replacement by any means but I don't think he's a solid defender so far this year.

Once Vis comes back we wont even need a Hickey. Carkner has been and is our worst Dman. He brings size and fight which is important though.

guys its early in the season and we tied for most points in atlantic. enough with this imagine if we had PA.
Ever hear the expression if it aint broke dont try to fix it. I know KO doesnt look at his best but he must be doing something right. Weather he scoring or not, its freeing up moulson and tavares to do their thing.

There is more to hockey to jugdging a player just on points. PA put up tons of points last year but you know what we lost. So maybe there a better Fight in Boyes to win?

As for Hickey, im a fan but he is no position to just become our top mins guy yet. YOu ahve to realize there is big difference when you playing max mins again the Opposing teams top line.

Thats why at times A -Mac makes mistakes, its big responsibility.

PA PARENTEAU is no longer on team. let me as you this, Who is better, PA or Grabner? Grabs has been 2nd best players on this team after tavares. Not even a debate on this.

STOP THE NEGATIVELY. go find another post. LETS GO ISLANDERS.

- Spartiarti

not really. You are right though they are playing well as a unit minus Okposo, he needs to be moved to another line or team even. He's had enough time. They don't need to change much if anything that's why I'm a bit concerned with Vis coming and his drama. As far as PA. He is a topic, that's it. Stop being sensitive.

Who in their right mind would take KO over PA at this point in time

Actually Grabner is not second on the Islanders that would be Moulson and then Nielson and then GRabner so he is fourth on teh chain point wise. Tavares though is 7th in the league with 11 points

I don't think he was talking points wise, just overall play which he is correct. Grabner has been awesome in all phases so far

I know I was being an ass. I am so happy that he is doing well. The guys at this point I can do with out is KO and Streit. Iknow we need him offensively but man that guy cant play defense anymore. Oh and DP of course but I realize I am stuck with him and that stupid beard

I think Okposo is what he is, not physical, not a great skater, we all know the story. If we waived him Snow would just pick him up again

If he played as he was billed, we would be wasting time argue about this kids current worth.. Currently, he needs to be woken from his gamer sleep..

He is terrible.

Did anyone catch Boyes raking Bryce Salvador in the face with his stick after scoring OT goal? It was def an accident as BS was lying-down in/across the crease. As Boyes pulled his stick away to celebrate the top of the blade got Bryce across the cheek area. Looked OK - no blood- getting up but he wont forget that on Sunday.
- jmo16

Good. I hope it gets him off his game and he chases Boyes all over the rink on Sunday. Although considering how lousy he was last night maybe he'd be better just to keep doing what hes doing.

No way in H. E. double L Garth will waive Kyle. A first round pick? Most ridiculous idea on this board of 2013. trade him? not likely. Garth doesn't admit mistakes or make trades. Can only hope someone else earns their way to the top line.
- jmo16

Except Okposo wasn't his mistake. He was Smith's.

I don't know about 'garbage' but I don't think he'll have anything close to the same type of numbers. I was all for resigning him but did not and DO NOT think he's worth 4 years at $16 million. PA is a streaky player so while his start is a nice one, it's only 7 games so if you're going to validate a 4 year contract through a whopping 7 games,

As I've mentioned, PA's final 18 games last year said a lot to me..
3g 5a 8pts..
I would have unquestioniably accepted PA back on this team with open arms but it was players like PA who would have ultimately had to slide down to a third line role if we really wanted to improve this team. There were a few folks here who were insisting that PA would be more than a ppg player this year, I think that's a bit far fetched.

Yha it looks like Gremlin suffered a sophomore slump last year... he may still have hands like feet...But his speed more then makes up for it.

I'm not validating anything but didn't you come on here after his first scoreless game and make some comments? If not you then it was a couple of other guys. I can go back and take a chunk of games out of just about everybody and say they didn't put up numbers. You focus on 18 games and just ignore the other 64 games? I'm done talking about this but he would not be playing 3rd line on this team thats for sure

Someone else brought up that he had no goals I believe, and I pretty much wrote the same paragraph I just posted prior. I think their are a lot of PA Parenteau type players in the NHL. Yes, I focused on the 18 games for reasoon. It was the teams stretch run as they were trying to claw back into the playoff picture and it obviously flew in the face of people insisting his productivity wouldn't drop off despite being separated from Tavares. I see PA as a 18-20 goal, 40-50 point player on a top line. Very good numbers, but I'd like to see a better pairing for JT and if this team is really going to become a contender, he won't cut the second line either. So the question becomes, where would you see PA three years from now on this team?

The Isles should have found a way to resign him during the regular season but I think PA knew all along he was on his way out. He smelled payday and when Joe Sakic called him, word was he wasn't even going to listen to anyone else. That said, none of us will know who is right or wrong until his contract term is up.

Seriously though I'm over Snow botching it by not moving him because like you said everybody knew he was looking for final big payday. The only reason I bring him up is because of all the clowns said he would do nothing without JT
