why even put him out there then? Why is it a big deal that we counterd with Scott? Not like Scott grabbed him and started throwing him around. - Homer
It isn't a big deal to counter with Scott. It was a perception that Ruff was using a timeout with under 20 seconds left with a 7-4 lead, just to add insult to injury. The broadcast I was watching didn't catch what was really going on in terms of the line matchups, so it just looked like Ruff was taunting the Bruins even though he wasn't.
The whole thing was overblown by everyone. Why would MacDermid wait the whole game to fight someone and then do it with less than 5min left when Shannahan would come down on him and Claude Julien the hardest? He could have done it when Scott was in the penalty box or the other 51 minutes he wasn't on the ice. I can just as easily see why Ruff called the time out, 'If they want to fight at the end of the game, then get the fighter out there'.
This game to me was not about the fight, because two fighters mutually agreed to go at it (during warm ups appearantly). To me it was about the incredibly alarming lack of effort by the Bruins on transitional defense and how truly great a scorer Vanek is.
How come none of the Bruins stuck up for Thornton
I figure this would be #17 time to shine, or #33

Maybe B-lo doesn't win championChips (Marchand is an idiot AND douche at the same time LOL), but at least we speak understandable English, don't have 3 million bumholes in 10 square miles, we don't have to spend 3 hours each way to drive to work, and we can buy a sweet house for under 150K...
Best of all, our tough guy absolutely destroyed yours, which to me is almost as good as girlfriend-beater Milan getting his ears boxed.
Marchand is a crybaby and has done more cheap, dirty crap on the ice than Kaleta has ever dreamed of. For one night we OWNED you in every phase of the game, and if Lindy doesn't put Scott out there at the end and Mcdermid does something to Vanek , all the Baaaston media would be repeating their "Buffalo can't defend themselves" garbage to no end.
Bruins looked like the Pussies Thursday, and we'll see if the rematch ends 3 mintues into the game with another Bruin getting completely destroyed.

Sabers suck, congrats on the law of averages catching up to you, after all you cant lose every game, and the bruins cant win every game. Just worry about trying to make the playoffs. Sabers played a good game, and yes, thorton got his ass kicked. But really, are the B's gonna goon it up with them when they are up a couple goals? No, (nor are they gonna drop the gloves with 13 secs left.) Lets face it, Sabers hate the bruins, Bruins, they dont really care about the Sabres, there's nothing personal, the Sabers are just not worth caring or worrying about. All you trolls here were predicting a 5-1 loss for the Sabers, I was reading your blogs, and acutally felt bad for you for having no hope of winning.
