That's a sincere answer, by the way. Refuse to believe that MacDermid, a kid with six games of NHL experience whose big league career could be killed with a suspension given his lack of an NHL resume and the role the B's would like to use him in given the injury to Shawn Thornton, was going out there to jump Jason Pominville with 13.6 seconds left in the game. It'd be an incredibly stupid move by both MacDermid and the B's wouldn't put that on the kid.

The general consensus is that he did it to extend the game and his "glory moment" He didn't need to call the time out to do what he did, after the goal was scored he could have simply put his fourth line out there or Scott with some other line if he wanted to. Julien often counters with an energy line after a goal against so it's not that uncommon, in fact a lot of other teams do the same thing.

EDIT: I'm not saying I agree with this as I stated last night, just what I've been hearing at work today, I think Julien would have done the same thing in that situation.
