Gillis on 1040 next... - 1970vintage
I hope he is announcing a trade.
I hope 1040 really turns the screws on Gillis. This is starting to go down a bad path. |

What bad path? we are testing both goalies and seeing who is the one to go with. |

I'll just remind the Vanouver fans who were arguing with me all summer and fall that it was this dumb Leafs fan who said Vancouver should keep Luongo.
(Thankfully, at least some of your fanbase agreed, though I forget who.)
Trading him this year, never made much sense.

nah, their digging but Gillis is giving the same answers as always. Player decisions are based on the best opportunity to win, I have the utmost confidence in Cory that he'll play well in his next start, blah blah blah.
I said it last night, I'll say it again, coaching and management have never acknowledged that Cory is THE #1 guy. While both goalies are here, there is no #1. |

But Leaf fans also told us Burke was safe . We never know what to think. |

I don't thing Gillis ever said there was. That was Cam Cole printing a quote out of context. |

What bad path? we are testing both goalies and seeing who is the one to go with. - rune_74
The path where Schneider has been with the organization for years now, has developed into a #1 goaltender, kept his mouth shut the whole time, signed a starting goalie contract and after last year was pretty much given the starting roll and now is sitting on the bench. At what point does he throw the towel in. I give Schneider credit, he has delt with everything like a true pro, but I'm sure he goes home at night and cries himself to sleep. |

There are a few truths dicovered here:
1. Lou has not lost a step. He is still elite.
2. Lou only played Colorado.
3. Schnider is still #1 by the facts that he plays Chicago in Chicago and the like.
4. By the testimony of fans of other teams, they sure are interested when they say theya re not.
5. Both goalies have no trade clauses. |

This is business, a sport where the best player wins, how do you think Luongo felt? |

I can't believe the organization has managed to screw both goalies simultaneously! That's impressive. |
