I would absolutely love to see the business plan they present to potential investors.

"So, we think that in the next six months, we can raise ticket prices by 2800%, and that will spur on Coyotes fans to increase their ticket buying by 330%. "

"And will the Coyotes then be profitable?"

"No, but if we also manage to find oil beneath centre ice..."

After 10 years of franchise failure in Glendale there is absolutely, positively no business model that sees this team in any profitability to an investor. The only thing I can think of is if they move and start actually playing in Phoenix (as opposed to an hour south in Glendale) but even then it's hopeless. I have no idea how the league continues to convince itself that "any year now, we'll turn the corner..."

Jamison couldn't find anyone that would lend him a dime for this investment. And, it's become clear no potential owner is going to move forward with any significant amount of their own personal money invested. The NHL will at some point have to raise the white flag and move on. The Phoenix area can't claim they weren't given an opportunity to make it work as a fan base...

I can't wait to see Doan finish his career I'm Seattle or Kansas City. That idiot wasted everyone's time waiting to see of he could get a guarantee that Phoenix was staying. He never got that guarantee, yet he still signed there anyways. Nice gamble Doan.

I tried PM-ing Rune94 but he doesn't accept them. Our blogger has been the worst offender.

Tomorrows game should be entertaining. Can't wait to see Kassian rag-doll that little panty waste Keith.

He can go to Seattle, KC or Markham, there's enough bible thumpers on the Canucks as it stands!

As soon as he signed a new deal I realized he was an idiot, even by hockey player standards.

Yeah, it would be nice to see Keith get pummelled, but I have a feeling it will be all business on the ice. The Canucks PP is going to have to be better tomorrow, as will the rest of their game.

Ian certainly had his troll shoes on this morning.

I just hope the Canucks show up for the first 10 mins. or the game will be over by then.

Ian definitely had his stilettos on.

I don't think it has anything to do with that. There are some pretty other important factors at work. First, it can't make it easy to convince other cities to build the infrastructure to support an NHL, if expanding there is desireable to the NHL, if they up and run on a franchise/city like that, after the city has invested hundreds of millions of dollars. Second, it's a regionally desireable location to the league. Not just because it's south, but because it's a bit of a link to the rest of the league. Geographically, it's an in-between, from the West coast, to Denver. I've heard it referred to as a gateway market, and it makes the NHL less of a regional game, and subsequently more attractive to sponsorship and TV contracts. I'm not familiar enough with the American TV markets, so I don't really know how true it is, but I've read some things on that in the past.

They'll have to trade one of them. Schneider signed that contract under the impression that he'd be the starter. He's not going to want to share the net forever. If this doesn't get resolved this season, I would be surprised to see Cory ask for a trade.
- Jeffmt

Well with the exception of Kiprusoff inthe 2010 olympics, I don't think any goalie gets to dictate whether he is the starter or not. Like it or not, he's getting his money and he's guaranteed a job.
