Yet not one Canuck fan seems to think that will be a problem. |

I think now it's going to take at least three 1st's, two 2nd's, a 3rd and Campbell, Fleischman and Versteeg for just Lou. - MnGump

The blurb I pasted didn't specify UFA/RFA - 1979AD
Yes... because ESPN has always been the most knowledgeable source for correct hockey information. Lu was an RFA the summer of 2006. One year away from UFA eligibility. |

His numbers are better then both Leaf netminders this year with a team missing its first line in front of him....... - SMP8719
A) the Leafs don't have a first line
B) You think "being better than the Leafs' goaltenders" justifies the trade? |

I'm sure you're right, but don't discredit ESPN's journalistic credibility while citing Wikipedia.
The point is, UFA or RFA Nonis knew he was going to sign there or he wouldn't have made the trade. The key point is, why would an older Luongo with a ridiculous contract fetch a higher return. Goalies don't have great trade value. |

I never cited wikipedia... and weren't you comparing Schneider's value now to what Lu's value was when he was traded? |

Use less emoticons. Lu getting 3 starts in a row is not 4 laughy emoticons worth of funny. Living in saskatchewan on the other hand... - nucks_94
Beware of Oilers superfan SaskOil.
Guy goes nuts if you make any disparaging comments about the province of Saskatchewan.
You know, not that I would ever knowingly do that just to see him blow a gasket... |

GMs and owers lie ,go figure .
We had an owner once sing the national anthem before he moved the team to Memphis . At least yours just sent Gretky down to Seattle to tell them build an arena . - VANTEL
I don't think anyone lied.
Things change.
Lu's looking good right now - why not ride the hot goaltender? |

It's more than that. Gillis is not stupid enough to have 9.3 Mil one spot tied up. He never got what he was looking for so now he is moving to plan B |

And why would teams give any more for Schneider than they would have for Luongo? He's 26 years old now, and has yet to play any meaningful stretch for games as a true #1 goalie. He's had very good numbers in small stretches where's he's been sheltered from the pressure of being the starter. This season, the first time he's started the year as the #1, he has so far poop his pants not unlike one Ben Scrivens. |
