There are a few truths dicovered here:
1. Lou has not lost a step. He is still elite.
2. Lou only played Colorado.
3. Schnider is still #1 by the facts that he plays Chicago in Chicago and the like.
4. By the testimony of fans of other teams, they sure are interested when they say theya re not.
5. Both goalies have no trade clauses. - Beatle_john
Gillis just said Lu was never not the #1
Gillis thinks everyone is an idiot.
Where the Ef is Booner , I need one of his rants on MG.
No wonder we have a goalie graveyard. Our coaching staff are the grave diggers and our GM is the Grimm Reaper |

I hope he is announcing a trade.
I hope 1040 really turns the screws on Gillis. This is starting to go down a bad path. - fiveandagame
And Visa Versa.... "house radio" gives me the creeps now. Tony Gallagher is the only one who brings up any salient points and the rest seem to ask themselves a quesion and then go on 40 minute monologues answering their own question.
If they have Keyy Hrudey on again, I will drown myself.
When they need to get their enetertainment from "Tony from White Rock" or just how many times can "Harley" phone in.... |

Lou is Awesome and is your number One. Schnider Sucks and hasnt proved Jack. He is the backup (with a bad contract). Facts. |

Just what I said earlier. That Gillis/AV have never said that Cory was the #1 goalie and Lu was the backup. Player that gives the team the best chance to win plays. |

You bathe in oatmeal. (random fact)
The opposite of "#1" is not "sucks". If you can explain how CS sucks or how his contract is not exactly what the market says it should be, please do.
Otherwiese, go bathe. |

So what?
This is business, a sport where the best player wins, how do you think Luongo felt? - rune_74
That's fine. A big part of managing a sucessful business is proper asset management. The Canucks have obvious holes in the organization and they are sitting on two very good goalies. They re-signed Cory to a 4 mil a year extention and have Luongo at 5.3. In a salary cap world, it is ridiculous to have both thoes guys on the roster. If Luongo is getting traded at some point and Schneider is your #1, then make Schneider your number #1. AV and his "riding the hot hand" BS. If Schnieder was good enough to run Luongo out of town last year, then you give him the #1 job this year. AV and Gillis have both screwed the pooch on this one. |

So what has the better odds of happening first:
Luongo gets traded or the Coyotes get relocated? |

Realistically (not Trolling) what could Schneider get?
Halak got Eller and Ian Schultz
Lehtonen got nothing
Schneider has slightly better numbers than Halak but Halak was 2 years younger and had already had a great playoff |

So you are saying......
1. The FACT that CS played last year --- and was told by the media that suddenly he was #1. and
2. The FACT that although Lou has never asked for a trade but only said he was open to one and would do what was best for the team.
... sounds like you are saying the media drove the story that Lou was out. The National media, desperate for a story.. ran with it but all the while, those in the actual seats of power never said a word. |

No he insists he always thought Lu was #1 and when Lu asked for a trade he tried to accomadate . Nothing was a fair trade value so he stopped looking and it's business as usual - VANTEL
Are you sure that is what he said? Until this point, the Canuck story has been Lou never seeked out a trade but was open to one if the case presented itself. |

$4M/yr probably helps... - nucks_94
Plus the fact that he's on a cup contending team in a city where every player in the organization are treated like kings, have access to whatever they need to improve/succeed, why wouldn't he be fine with it. This isn't a normal year by any standards, and people seem to forget that he was the Canucks player rep and was on the negotiating committee with Malholtra during the lockout and that's got to have taken a toll on the guy. Why not let Luongo shield him for this year from the stress of being #1 and then start him next year off fresh with a full training camp/exhibition game schedule and run with him. I just don't get people who say this is so horrible honestly, we're supposed to be a professional organization that brings people along slowly and give them every chance to succeed, we aren't the Oilers or Columbus that drop rookies into the lineup and pray to god they actually develop on the fly. |
