The Vancouver Canucks theme song: Katy Perry - Hot and Cold
Luongo deserves to be traded, he's been treated like garbage in Vancouver for a couple years now by the fans and by the organization. - PuckingOpinion
dont ever compare the canucks to katy perry again......... |

I don't think it has anything to do with that. There are some pretty other important factors at work. First, it can't make it easy to convince other cities to build the infrastructure to support an NHL, if expanding there is desireable to the NHL, if they up and run on a franchise/city like that, after the city has invested hundreds of millions of dollars. Second, it's a regionally desireable location to the league. Not just because it's south, but because it's a bit of a link to the rest of the league. Geographically, it's an in-between, from the West coast, to Denver. I've heard it referred to as a gateway market, and it makes the NHL less of a regional game, and subsequently more attractive to sponsorship and TV contracts. I'm not familiar enough with the American TV markets, so I don't really know how true it is, but I've read some things on that in the past. - prock
It's not that I'm disagreeing with your comments but that sounds like the original rational for putting a team in Phoenix, not ones that are relevant to the current situation. 10 years on the fan base has not materialized, neither have viable sponsorships or lucrative local tv contracts. The only thing that might have been achieved is reducing some of the travel time for certain teams. This has been a failure 10 years in the making and at this point any city angling to get an expansion team would not be deterred because hockey failed to take root in a no-man's land market. |

If Gillis is a savvier dealer than Montreal's old GM (which I think he is) then we should net more than what Halak got, which I almost see as a give away. A top 6 forward and strong prospect (+ maybe even a decent draft pick) should be achievable. - AlexF
Realistically -- if Toronto was to make a offer for CS.... it would start with a K and rhyme with 'Essel.'. |

I like Katy Perry. When he scored 50 that one year... not too bad. But now he has gone all vagina. |

And why would teams give any more for Schneider than they would have for Luongo? He's 26 years old now, and has yet to play any meaningful stretch for games as a true #1 goalie. He's had very good numbers in small stretches where's he's been sheltered from the pressure of being the starter. This season, the first time he's started the year as the #1, he has so far poop his pants not unlike one Ben Scrivens. - p_zub
Why do you worry what Vancouver does .Stay with your two AHL goalies and good luck |

They are only playing bad to ensure a great draft pick. |

To be fair, at times it seems pretty serious once you guys are actually getting into discussions about trading Schneider. |

I personally think that's a higher price than any team would pay - giving up an 82 point player for a young goalie that hasn't started for a full season yet. Although we believe Schneider might be worth that, I doubt few if any teams would agree at this point. |

Truly he isn't going anywhere Luo wants out he will go regardless, Corey wants to be here and he will be at the top league leading goaltenders very soon. |

Why are Boston looking on moving another top end forward with no goals in a trade ? |

I'm not sure about that...I think Luo wanted out when he thought corey took his job. Now? who knows. |

I would take Lu over him no question but Lu wanting out won't change. Has to be dealt the latest after the end of the season. |
