Tell Glen (our Glen) to make it happen. Isn't he credentialed with the Jackets now?
- Pete V

Not quite fellas but maybe by the end of the season I can exert my influence.

How does Dubinsky look on the ice out there, Glen? Has he been invisible? Or is he just not scoring?

Invisible on offense. Effort is there. He looks a lot like he did last year. He needs someone else to carry the puck in and generate while he goes to the net and right now that isn't happeneing. He has been carrying the puck in and firing shots from the wing and misses the net or hits the outside. He just hasn't developed any chemistry yet with anyone offensively.

Hell yeah. Then they can buyout Rupp, and keep Dubi.
- Pete V

Or trade them Rupp to even the salary. Wow am I the only one that loves this idea? I'd throw in their conditional third right back to them to sweeten it and done! Dubi is here for $2M which at that price he's back to being a fan favorite, we get the 3rd line winger we need, less pressure on him and BOOM call it a trade. Columbus gets a 2nd 3rd (cause we are winning the cup ) and Christian Thomas who is a nice prospect.

MAKE IT HAPPEN SATHER

I think he has played well last couple of games, just can't get it in. He has had some great chances.

Not playing someone that can really snipe with Stepan takes away his greatest attribute, which is his vision. I'm sure it would do wonders for him if he got to play with one of the big two wingers, but I certaintly don't want to move Nash of the first line, and Gaborik really got going when he was put there. So for now, Stepan is just going to have to make due.

he's not playing well, but he's not even close to rupp/bickel territory yet.

Basically, everywhere I have looked, from this board (not the regulars), to snyrangersblog, to blueshirts united, there have been fans criticizing Derek Stepan.

Without fail they misspell his name.

Anyways it just frustrates me because I am a big believer in the kid.

Look at this way, he was drafted only a year before Chris Kreider, and he already has 100 NHL points at 22 years old. He's already proven in my mind that he is, and will continue to be, a very good NHL player. If he makes the next step, all the better.

That was a great draft -- Del Zotto and Stepan.

Like everybody else, he needs time to get into it this season. He has been better every game, with and without the puck.

Sometimes we forget he is not a scorer, he is more of a playmaking center and only in his 3rd year out of college.

82 21 24 45 +8
82 17 34 51 +14

Thats a hell of a stat line for a rookie/sophmore center. I really believe his upside is higher than any other young forward we have, save Kreider.

I personally believe at one point our First line will be Kreider and Stepan with them being the face of the team (in terms of skill).

Funny isn't it? For all he has been b*tched about earlier this year, he is still on pace for the equivalent of a 60 point season.

I have never seen Weise in a fight when he didnt get clocked. Worse fighter than Boyle.

Been there with that guy, done that. Would rather see Ryan Hollweg back, he must be leaving his feet hitting someone from behind in some schlub league?

I thought he played real well against Philly and had some great chances that he just couldn't get into the back of the net.

I'm waiting for the Trolls to start taking jabs at Nash because he only has one goal in 6 games.

I actually liked Hollweg as a good energy guy for a couple seasons. He would get on the ice, throw about three illegal checks, get the fans all fired up, and then skate back to the bench.

I also remember when Jagr set him up for a tap in goal, and gave an interview after the game where he said the NHL equivalent of "its always nice to see a fat guy score a touchdown" about Hollweg.

I was at that game! Haha, Jagr & Hollweg had a 2-0 breakaway & Jagr passed it over to Ryan, awww...

It was 5 or 6-0 Rangers over Tampa, it was one of Avery's first Ranger games & Colton Orr scored too!
