I watched most of the game last night, and from an outsider perspective, the Rangers looked lazy. I can't tell you how many times guys just stopped moving their feet, prime example was Stahl on the break out of the penalty box goal for Despres.

He stops skating and tries to use his stick to knock the puck away instead of trying to stay on Dupuis. Granted he was at the end of a PP shift but he's gotta do more than flail his stick at the puck in a half ass effort.

So the can-opener move and boarding of Crosby in the 1st period by Del Zotto behind the net was a good no call then???

could have gone either way, didn't appear to be a very hard hit. didnt appear that dz got him from behind, point of contact was near the hip

I like Stepan and I know he is trying, I am not going to get on his effort, he is shooting the puck, last night he had 6 shots on net.

But here is a fact, including the playoffs last year, and the last 5 games of regular season last year, Stepan has now scored 1 goal in his last 32 games.

The kid has got to figure this out, because when looking at secondary scoring, without Callahan around, all eyes are looking to him.

I say this as a very big fan of the kid, not as someone who says "Stephan sucks"

You're right Jimbo, and couple that with the fact that Hagelin hasn't scored in almost 40 games, those are two primary guys that the Rangers count on for secondary production who have scored only 1 goal in almost a full season's worth of games. That's down right scary.

I think that last line was for my benefit.

I did not know his drought extended so long, that is pretty bad. The good news is that he looks close to potting one, and hopefully from there they keep coming. Kind of similar to what we are saying about Nash

I think Torts just needs to open things up, and play some river hockey for a few games. Get everybody scoring some goals, feeling good about themselves, and getting Hank a good workout in the meantime. When need some 7-6 games.
