I know I don't post on here very often but I do read it all the time . I thing the the rangers problem scoring comes from the system . The wingers are way to low down trying to block shots and clogging up the shooting lanes . It doesn't lead to too many odd man rushes . The other team comes back along with the rangers and leaves little space for passing and to make plays . So all the offence come from cycles or five feet out and lower . Just my view of what I see |

we're 3-4 and the Isles are 4-2-1, that says enough, plain and simple they aren't taking this seriously, the more I think about how they are playing the more i want to take my laptop and throw it through my TV. |

25 goals 40 assists, he's looks like a 10 and 30 guy.....Dubinsky territory, he's not developing and that's scary. - cranford93
Stepan will be lucky to score ten goals in a season. He is as soft as frozen yogurt. |

Before the season started I was telling a Devils fan I with mark my words the isles make the playoffs, I wasn't counting on being the ones to be on the outside looking in, we don't look like a playoff team and that's sad, 1st to 10th? |

In all fairness our kids are finally getting a chance to play. They are looking very good and fun to watch. First time I have seen this in years. |

It is scary awful, whatever Sullivan is telling these players, it either isn't being listened to or it simply isn't a good design. Nobody moves out there, too stationary, which makes it extremely easy to defend. |

it's not just him either, now everybody isn't svoring. Worse than not scoring, all of them are lloking to pass. Nobody wants to shoot, and that drives me (frank)ing crazy. |

There's no transition, the defense turns the puck over in the neutral zone too often, they can't even feed off of dirty Malkin and Crosby, wow seeing the replay, this game was called one way, it's a shame that the NHL has to still have Pittsburgh get every call. |

Maloney just said what has been obvious to me with this team, this year. The Rangers are lethargic with their efforts, something that has been a complete 180 from the last two seasons, especially.
They are flat and they are showing a severe lack of attention to detail. Four...FOUR too many men on the ice penalties, in seven games. That is embarrassing |

Im a full blown Rangers fan and always have been, but holy crap do they ever look like poop so far this year so far. They need Captain Cally back NOW and they really need to invest in some bottom six forwards cuz the ones we have are pitifull. Bickel, Halpern, Asham are all useless tits. |

People keep saying don't bring any kids up from Connecticut...umm, why not? It really can't be any worse than what we have seen, outside of the Toronto game last week. |

I think that is fair, considering he went 21-24-45, 17-34-51, you could say the next step is 25-40-65.
Maybe I would go closer to 20-40-60. As a comparable, Richards did not break 21 goals in his first 3 seasons. He has more assists, but I think Steps is a drop below Richards.
Ok, so for the record, with 4 assists in 7 games, Stepan is on pace for 46 assists, which would fulfill your expectations.
He is also on pace for 0 goals, and I will agree he has been struggling with his finishing. But stuff like that is streaky, and I envision him as more of a playmaker than a goal scorer.
I do think he has been getting chances (unlike Dubi) and making smart plays (unlike Dubi) and not falling down randomly (unlike Dubi) so I do not like the comparison.
And as a whole, I think it is harsh to be as hard on him as you have been based on the 7 games they have played so far. He has also been playing with an odd collection of linemates, that cannot help a young centerman.
But developmentally, he will be fine and he will be very good for us for many years to come. |

7 games in and I'm already hoping we can get into the eight spot in April.

Other than the Toronto game I haven't seen that full 60 minute relentless effort, hopefully that changes soon |

Thank you for saying it. I feel the same way. This system blows. Defensively collapsing doesn't leave any room for breakouts and after collapsing they are too tired from running around. My bottom line about this is ...it shouldn't take 5 players to defend 3 in your zone.

The team has jack sh!t for depth, especially when players that were supposed to be relied upon to do their fair share(Hagelin, Boyle & Stepan) have been borderline invisible. |
