You're seriously comparing Simmonds to Boyle?

Not saying it wont, but I personally think Simmonds is overrated and shouldnt be playing on the top line.. Yes he plays a similar game as Hartnell (front of net, physical in your face type) but has nothing for a shot and Hartnell can snipe when given the chance. Simmonds tries too often to force the puck and just ends up turning it over, which is why he shouldnt be on the top line

Simmonds isn't overrated. And Simmonds is there because Hartnell is hurt. Simmonds has a lot of good qualities to his game. Next to Hartnell, Simmonds is the best Power Forward on the team. Which is the type of player they're looking for to fill in there.

How does a player who goes hard to the net and the corners make space for himself? There's no such thing. Those are the high traffic areas on the ice. You don't see Boyle on a line with Nash and Gaborik because they also have Richards. I'm quite sure that if the Flyers had a player of that caliber healthy and on the roster, they'd try him with Giroux. Although of course both Richards and Giroux are centers. And Simmonds is a better player then Boyle.

I was a big proponent of Sestito most of the year ... but the guy was so invisible last game I've changed my mind.

I'd rather see McGinn and Rinaldo in there on most nights, and let Sestito and Shelley see the odd game against Boston.

He's not an awful player, and he skates well for such a big man. I just always get a sense of impending doom when he's out.

Craziest? No. Bad comparison? Definitely.

His point was that because you don't see Boyle on the Rangers top line that Simmonds likewise doesn't belong on the Flyers top line.

Boyle isn't garbage, but Simmonds is clearly the better player at this point in their respective careers.
