Maybe Doan will ask out since they magically got a deal in place to get him to re-sign and the deal magically fell apart two weeks into the season.

move the Coyotes to Seattle. They are getting a basketball team again, it would give the Canucks a close rival. We need teams in the west to stay in the west.

Phoenix & Florida are just bad hockey markets period.
They both need to be relocated. Possibly to Seattle & Quebec.
They can't get fans into the seats at $7 a pop, how much more time is needed to show these failing franchises are non profiting organizations.
These are the biggest problems with the NHL & the #1 reason we just had a lengthy lockout.

byebye. This is impossible to fix...(unless you call Obama, he's good at handouts! lol)

what an odd thing to say coming from someone who lives and enjoys the benefits of living in Canada - a welfare state. an even odder thing to say from someone who lives in Quebec who is more of a drain on federal resources per capita.

Florida didn't make the playoffs for like 10 years, that could have an effect on any fan base.

And they're talking about an expansion. Why not start by fixing what doesn't currently works before creating more problems?

This league is weird.

One option would be to fold the team and then expand by one.

Expansion fees >>>> re-location fees

This is what I dont understand is why would Jamison even invest in a sinkhole franchise like the Coyotes in the first place, I know Arizona has a huge population mass, but time and again hockey just doesnt seem to gain momemtum in the desert.

How hard of a deadline? Considering the mayor said he wouldn't hold up this agreement past today and the fact Ken Campbell had herad that Jameson had raised virtually NOTHING, I'm gonna say it's a pretty hard deadline.

Mark Spector makes the best point of all. Probably 8000 showed up last night while Quebec and Seattle are building arenas and Markham will be soon. It's time to say goodbye. I feel bad for city, you can argue they shouldn't have done it but they were lead astray but previous owners as well as the NHL. And they might not have the fans that other cities have but I feel bad for the fans that are there. To have your team ripped from you would suck. But it's beyond embarrassing now.

And thats not the first time this year the "crowd" was small. Last night the announced attendance was 12k. Against Columbus the announced crowd was only 8000.

Exactly. The fans have given up. After this going on for 4 years, I don't see how you can win them back. It's not like it's been a year or two, then maybe you could have won some of them back. It's been 4 and before that the team wasn't any good.

And in the conference finals last year it was something like 16k for 18k seats.

Gretzky is the one who sank the coyotes by destroying all of it's young talent and ran the team into the ground.why should he get anything since the team was bought out of bankruptcy.he wasn't a debt holder so his claim should have been resolved in the bankruptcy court.Jamison should tell Gretzky to get lost.

That's an interesting perspective from a Blue Jackets fan. You should know first hand how having a crappy team can affect a fan base. The Blue Jackets had one of the most solid, loyal fan bases in the league until one embarrassing trip to the playoffs and years of being a doormat started taking a toll on the attendance.

The Coyotes only started becoming good during the ownership mess. They've generally had crappy teams up until then, so why should the fans become emotionally invested in this team until the ownership issues are solved AND they have a decent product on the ice?

Stable ownership + winning = any team can be viable in any market. Even Phoenix.

I feel bad for the fans that do show up but at some point enough is enough. As for Jamison, what I don't understand is if he is having trouble even coming up with the financing to buy the team, what's going to happen moving forward when he loses millions of dollars in the years ahead? If he is financially strapped and leveraged to the hilt just to buy the team, he won't have the cash to cover the losses. It makes no sense to me why he would even put himself in that position much less the NHL allow him to do it.
