Good for him. This play wasn't even close to being a suspension. If it was, Brown would have had a hearing considering he has been suspended before. I do hope kaleta is back for the next leafs game, let's see if that rat will fight anyone.

He'll go after kadri or komarov, and head to the bench every time orr comes over the boards

Why is there so many leafs fans in here?????

Usually by the end of January they are eliminated from the playoffs already... must feel a sense of self worth this year.

Looks to me like Brown won the fight. Not that the hit was "legal", but a 2 min was fine...glad to hear Kaleta is fine, but he's not a real clean player himself...

This pretty much sums it up...

I'm with Brian Burke on this one: allow players to grab a guy, and you hold him up as you mush him into the boards.

A defenceman did the exact same thing to me last night in my game. He kinda half apologized after the play, for which I told him no apology was neccessary. That's just good hockey, and I appreciated not being shoved head-first.

Did you feel the same way when Tie Domi was being useless for 8 min a game?
- sbroads24

I remember Domi getting powerplay time

Questionable for a suspension.....but hardly a given....Kaleta is as dirty and irresponsible as they come on the ice....live and die by the sword...he puts a bullseye on with all his goofy antics every time he's on the ice.....someone found it. That's hockey....get over it.

Was it legal to punch the puck in the net back then?

Notice how the rabble-rouser doesn't respond after you post this. Just the usual "troll and run" method.

Believe it or not, there was a time when Domi could play some pretty decent hockey.

Unfortunately, it went to his head, and he decided he had earned the right to be one of the elder statesmen of the game.

And then, yeah, he was completely useless.

You could replace Kaleta for Domi for that whole paragraph, although Kaleta has cleaned up his hitting, he is still a rat

I remember Domi hiding behind Tomas Kaberle from big bad Luke Richardson after refusing to fight McCarthy or Berube and then beating up Adam Burt while Kaberle held him down.

As for the play, as had been said, he saw the hit coming and tried to get a call. Unfortunately for him, it actually ended up being a dangerous play and he got injured. I would give Brown 2 on the hit. I don't know where the illusion of Brown coming at him at full gallop and leaping into him from behind comes from.

Tucker may have had some dirty plays, but he never, ever shied away from being challenged to a fight for those dirty plays. He was more than willing to pay the consequences.

"Once a guy gets type-cast (see Matt Cooke and Pat kaleta) it seems that thescales of NHL justice tilt in the other direction."

I'm still trying to figure out how such an upstanding young man would get type-cast in such a fashion?

Kaleta fought Lucic last year, I doubt he's afraid to throw hands with Brown.
